Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

I believe that O-Ring is the industry term for the paper slipcase that goes over the regular Blu-ray or DVD case.

Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

That's a good point. A 4K re-release of the special edition is basically guaranteed but the state of home 3-D might mean that the theatrical cut is all there will be for a 3-D release.

Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

I suppose it's possible that they didn't want to spend the extra money on converting another 15 minutes of footage to 3-D and there is no 3-D extended cut. However, it seems really unlikely that they wouldn't convert all the footage at one time (especially with a perfectionist like Cameron being...

Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

You got me curious so I counted. Once again, not counting the repackagings, there was the early non-anamorphic DVD, the SE DVD, the 25th anniversary DVD, the Blu-ray, the 35th anniversary Blu-ray and maybe you could count the one in the box set because that corrected the audio. Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

Starting with the DVD era and looking at legitimate re-releases (not repackagings), there was a DVD (theatrical cut only?), the SE DVD, the extreme edition DVD, a Blu-ray (theatrical cut only?), the 'DNR' Blu-ray, the recent non-DNR Blu-ray and, now, this UHD.

Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

Ripley having a daughter is probably my pick for the worst deletion from any movie ever. That adds so much emotion and motivation for Ripley and Cameron was nuts to cut it. I'm with you on the LV-426 stuff- it has no business in the movie because it robs the marines' arrival of its mystery and...

Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

When I watch T2, I almost always go with the extended cut but I still think the theatrical cut is the same movie just with all the fat (and alot of the extended cut is just fat) trimmed off. By losing the extra or unnecessary scenes, the theatrical cut moves faster and is arguably a better...

Lionsgate Press Release: Terminator 2 Judgement Day Limited Collector's Edition (4k UHD)

I like most of the added scenes in the extended cut but the only ones that I find essential are the glitching T-1000 (where he's accidentally mimicking everything he touches or walks on). It's fun to see Reese again and the chip reset scene is cool but they're ultimately unnecessary. It's not a...
