    Hades froze over......Wonder Years!

I think you answered your own question. :) In fairness to Time Life, they paid to license the show and lots of music so they might have a smaller margin for profit and since they're not the owners, it's not like they made money off the show when it initially aired or was in syndication, etc.

I'm no authority but that make sense. Ride must be public domain so my guess is that it's included in the show but Time Life just didn't bother to list it since it's PD. Although I guess if it's a recording by a specific philharmonic then they'd have to clear it.

I'm curious as to what's missing too mostly because I'm wondering if they'll use a cover of the song to fill in the 'blank'. That being said, I think there's a difference between us being curious about what's missing and thinking that the absence of a list means that there's a conspiracy afoot. :)

Geez, this info has been up for 2 hours and there hasn't been any posts saying "I'll only accept 97% and above- NO SALE!!!!!!!!!!!" or "Why won't they tell us which 4% of songs are missing?!!! WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO HIDE?!!!!!!!"? Maybe my faith in the internet has been restored.

I haven't seen the show in years but I would think that number is way too high. 8 to 10 songs in a 23 or 24 minute episode would mean that was a song on average of every 2 to 3 minutes and that's basically impossible.

Come to think of it, I must have paid more than $500 for The X-Files all together but that was 15 years ago when a great price on one season of that show was $90. And since there was about 40 or 45 individual volumes, I paid more than $500 for The Twilight Zone the first time around too. I'm...

Yeah, it's cool that they're doing it for those interested but I don't know if there's a TV show that exists that I would pay $500 for. And I love a lot of TV shows.

The signed copies are available for 24 hours/today to people on their mailing list. Those not on the mailing list have to wait until tomorrow to order a signed copy.

Certainly don't base a purchase on my thoughts but I don't think they'll move through 500 of them in a day. The show certainly has a fanbase but I don't think it's big enough to move through 500 copies at $500 that quickly. Personally, I'm waiting to see the cost of the locker set without...

It has no bearing on my purchase but I could live with a standard box. At the same time, it is nice to see them go the extra mile in terms of packaging.

    Hades froze over......Wonder Years!

Like many shows of that era, The Wonder Years was edited on video so they'd have to go back to the negatives (a la Star Trek: The Next Generation) and that's most likely a cost that's too big to overcome.

    Hades froze over......Wonder Years!

The release of The Wonder Years signifies nothing for other unreleased shows. The studios involved know that this show is popular enough that they can most likely make a profit despite having to spend money on licensing the music. If it was almost any other unreleased show with this much music...

    Hades froze over......Wonder Years!

Wow! This was the one series that I figured would have to have its music seriously compromised if it ever came out on DVD but from the press release (which says they've secured the rights for "virtually every song"), it seems like they're doing it as well as can be done. I'm a little scared of...
