It's been years now but the problem that I remember was with the first season episodes Long Live Walter Jameson (froze in the middle of the episode) and The Big Tall Wish (the episode froze or wouldn't play). Those problems were fairly widespread but they didn't happen to everyone. I would think...
I went through all of the DVD season sets and compared them to the Blu-rays. As far as I'm concerned, this is a DEFINITIVE list of the missing features:
S1 missing special features:
Time Enough At Last- The Drew Carey Show Clip (0:45)
The Might Casey- photo gallery (5 pictures)
Photo Gallery...
Thanks for the info, guys!
By no means am I an expert but I found the original to sound better by a hair. Although I admit that I didn't find much of a difference even in an A/B comparison.
Maybe it's been discussed but what is the difference between the 'remastered audio' and the 'original audio'? Is it just an uncompressed audio track and a regular lossy audio track?
Currently, Amazon has the first three seasons for $46.49 each. Costco wouldn't come through for me but Amazon did (and I even did about $3 or $4 better since I don't have to pay tax at Amazon).
I checked the two stores near me in suburban Philadelphia, PA (the next closest stores are one in New Jersey and another in Delaware) and they had nothing. Fortunately, one of the stores that I've already checked isn't even ten minutes away so I'll hit them up tomorrow to see if it's on their...
Has anyone not been able to find The Twilight Zone at Costco? I checked two of them about a week and a half ago and both had no TZ Blu-rays (and a very small selection of Blu-rays). Anyway, I'm wondering if I just live near two crummy Costcos that don't have that large of a selection or if it...
Now I'm wondering, is my copy good and able to play in all players or do I have a bad copy that just happens to play in my player but won't play in my next player(s)?
OK, I went back through the thread and it should be set now. This time, I listed multiple reports about the same player when they're from different people.
* = on both lists.
NOT WORKING
Buffalo BD-ROM drive (post 108)
HP BDDVDRW CT21L BD-ROM drive (post 188)
Magnavox MBP5120F...
^ Corrected that one too.
I'm going to go back through the thread and double check everything to make sure that the list is right. Clearly I have lots of free time but it takes a while so give me some time.
SEE POST 228 FOR AN UPDATED LIST
I went back through the thread and found all the players with and without problems. I also listed the posts where they were first reported (but I didn't list them if they showed up again in the thread).
* = in both categories
Not working...
I'm in the same boat. Just bought the set and disc 4 worked fine for me.
For what it's worth, I have a buddy who got the set back in September and he didn't have any trouble so it's not that every set has been messed up. It's just that there seems to be a much higher than normal incidence...
I agree and I'm not big on saying "Oh, the mean old company doesn't care about its customers" but it's pretty hard to defend Image's lack of action with this set. Image is a small enough company that I can't believe they think they can just alienate customers by continually selling a product...
I got my set in the mail today and it looks like I got lucky. All the discs booted up easily and I took a look at an episode or two on each disc (man, they look great). Since they had had problems, I watched all of Long Live Walter Jameson and The Big Tall Wish and they both played fine. I have...
Me too. In all fairness to Image, I have nothing to back that up but I don't think anyone can blame me (whether I recieve a good set or not) for not having much faith in them.
As far as getting a new player, I'm probably going to do that soon anyway so using that as a 'fix' is sort of an...
I ordered the set from Amazon on Sunday for $46 and I assume it will be here today. I expect it to not work but I figured at under $50, I'll just get on the return merry-go-round until Image actually fixes the problem or until I get a functional set.
I wonder how many defective copies...
^ I think it's a case of left hand not talking to the right hand (as has been said) but I don't think it could hurt for you to inquire and tell her that you've heard the opposite of what you were told online and we're wondering if something had changed. It might even get someone at Image to get...
It's not all the S1 sets but it's a relatively widespread problem (with the episode The Big Tall Wish freezing up) and apparently, Image is going to do a new pressing. As of now, it doesn't seem like the S2 set has any problems like that.
My buddy has a copy of the S1 set and it works fine...
Yep. I know I was saying that the problem could be firmware but there's alot of problems for it to just be firmware. I'll be the first guy to say "Well, give it some time for them to get things in order before making any type of statement or recall" but the set has been out for a month & a half...
If the same discs are playing in some players and not others, it still really sounds like it's a firmware problem that needs to be updated by the manufacturers of the players. I have no clue how or why Image ended up making a disc that is having so much trouble in so many players (it's not like...
I don't have the set yet but according to The Digital Bits review: "The Drew Carey Show clip is gone for example, as are The Mighty Casey photos and the other photo galleries, the Netherlands sales pitch, the rare Rod Serling blooper, the Liars Club piece and of course the PDF file containing...
