It's total guess work based on when Fox released the S3 to S5 DVDs and when S4 to S6 started airing. For the last three years, the DVDs came out in the first week of December and the show started on a Sunday in the middle of January.

My guess is that Jack was not going to be in Africa (like how he's not in Washington, D.C. but portions of 24 storylines take place there). If he had been in Africa, I would have wanted to see him fight a lion... and win.:)

It's not a secret, the producers say that's how they do it. They also made it up as they went along (but made it work) in Seasons Four and Five.

Why wouldn't Morris be the father? They've been together prior to the beginning of the season. Either way, I don't think it matters because I'd bet that everyone but Kiefer Sutherland (and maybe Mary Lynn Rajskub) aren't going to be returning next season.

They've already said that they're going to plan a little more ahead when they do next season. While I think their luck ran out this year, I don't think making it up as they go is all bad- Season Three was planned ahead (as much as 24 gets planned anyway) and Seasons Four and Five weren't planned...

Beyond changing the locale (which could be cool) and thus the cast, how much can you really change the show? Jack is still going to be stopping the bad guys from doing bad things by kicking their ass. It's not like he is going to be stopping crime by heading up a crime scene investigation unit. :)

I love Cassar's work on the show but Bryan Spicer has done some great work this year (like episode 17 with the sequence where Jack kills Fayed and his men and stops the suitcase nukes). On the commentaries, one of the producers said that want to have Spicer on the show more but he's always doing...

Yeah, I figured they would have had a scene where he feels that he's made up (a little bit) for arming the suitcases nukes earlier in the day.
