Plus, LFL's release this holiday season is the first two Young Indiana Jones sets (and next year, they'll have Indy IV for the holidays). Maybe 2009. :)
I do have the paperback sized one and that would explain why it sticks in my mind. I also have the individual issues and a trade (yes, I am a real winner) but I don't remember his color since he's green there.
I follow your logic but just to play devil's advocate, I think there's a case to be made for watching the saga either way. I don't think Yoda's reveal is that big of a surprise. In the sense that I don't think anyone ever had a reaction of "OH MY GOD! THAT'S YODA?!!!!" when he reveals it in...
If you look on the internet, it seems like everyone wants an anamorphic OOT but in the real world, that number is not very significant. It's just like Snakes On A Plane and Grindhouse's popularity or how everyone hated Spider-Man 3, it may seem like a big deal online but those people are a...
Do you really think the SW fanbase that was able to hold and not buy those DVDs was that significant of a number? These could have been perfect anamorphic versions of the OOT and they would have only sold slightly better. IF Lucasfilm was actually dissapointed with the sales, the small bump in...
The discs aren't limited in number, they are limited in the time of production so they "can't" sell out. If they sell out, they make more until the end of the year.
I'd imagine that Cinemax On Demand will only have the SD versions. On Demand is free with a subscription to each channel so there won't be any fee though.
In all fairness, the quote wasn't "...quantity at the cost of quality" I think it's understood that a quality product needs to be produced to interest people. I think he meant that dropping $150 million into one movie isn't going to work but dropping $150 million into an entire year of TV or...
The first hint from a licensee about a 30th anniversary DVD set. http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/s...n_10 0566.asp It's not really a surprise and I'm not sure if anyone needs confirmation to know that a boxset is coming next year but I'd figured I'd post the link anyway. :)
The way that I see it is that Palpatine created Anakin so could have an all powerful apprentice. He didn't do it just to create life, he did it for selfish reasons like having a weapon to help him seize control of the galaxy. Palpatine being the 'father' also explains Anakin's virgin birth...
That is why he is weaker in the Force than he was before in the suit. As for why he beat Obi-Wan, he lost alot of his power but he could still take on an old man. :)
Carlo, I assume you think that people will be watching the OT in the future. Do you think that history will just forget the PT but remember the OT? In my mind, if they're interested in 'Part 4' that means they will always want to see what happened in Parts 1, 2, and 3. They may (or may not) hate...
I worked at a video store years ago and I had the same reaction but Shirley Temple movies still sell and rent pretty well. I don't know how much the little kid being forced to watch it likes it though. :) I've repeated myself (and drug the thread off topic) enough but I stand by my...
When it comes to film buffs, I'm sure you're right but I'm saying that in the future the average adult will not be watching them. Little kids will be watching them. Adults will know what the movies are but they won't take the time to watch some old kids movie. That's the reason why it'll all be...
Of course most people have never seen the bad ones but if they did, they would still percieve them as classics solely because it has Bogart in it. And that's also my point about Star Wars, whether someone thinks there's one or one hundred SW movies, it will all just be Star Wars to them. They...
I'm not saying that they're going to be better, I'm saying that in the future the average person will not differentiate between the two trilogies. It will all just be Star Wars. Another similar analogy could be that Humphrey Bogart did some lousy movies but the average movie viewer considers...
Yeah but Oz and its sequel were made nearly 50 years apart and no one involved in the original film had anything to do with the sequel. If the prequel trilogy had been made by like that, I'd say that history wouldn't remember them either. Plus, I have a feeling that eventually you're only...
Personally, in 50 years I don't think the people will see any difference between A New Hope or The Phantom Menace or Return Of The Jedi- they will all just be those old time classic Star Wars movies. Sure, film nerds will know and appreciate the difference but the average viewer will see it as...
Actually I would guess that Lucas felt that Luke screaming was wrong too since it was changed back to the original for the DVDs. I like most of the changes but that was my biggest pet peeve with the SEs (well, besides Greedo shooting first which I find so obviously 'wrong' that it's not even...
Tim, the X0 Project is an upcoming fan made bootleg that claims it's going to look better than any SW OOT has ever looked. http://www.x0project.com/welcome.php
I'm guessing the reaction will come from LFL's lawyers. Once it's on the internet, nothing will stop it but I'd guess that those guys...
I think there was a small bump in sales for Best Buy because of the tin. For two reasons 1. it was a fairly nice looking tin (which is why I picked it up) and 2. since it's Star Wars, there's always going to be a group of sleazy scalpers who are planning to retire on selling a DVD tin/toy/cereal...
