I read once it's because contractually she wasn't a star of the show (though I assume she is in the second season). When she's in a first season episode, they always listed her with the stars but for some reason she wasn't technically a star on the show. Whereas if Terry O'Quinn isn't in an...
Just to be safe, I wouldn't watch any of the bonus material before seeing the entire season. The supplements definitely assume that you've seen all of the episodes.
What I thought would be on there (a few featurettes, a couple of deleted scenes, and a commerical) was pretty much correct. If I'd read that first, I'd probably have been dissapointed since it's closer to 60 seconds of deleted scenes than 60 minutes:)
Let's put it this way, if you're buying the book, get it because you want to read the book not because of the DVD. :) I haven't had a chance to read it yet but just paging through the book, it's very well illustrated and designed.
I was surprised when I watched it and it was widescreen and DD 5.1 because when it aired in HD, it was in full frame with a stereo soundtrack. Unless it was just that the affiliate in my area that screwed up:)
How many people who started watching the show on DVD are going to watch the new episodes when they air now? I've been watching since it started but I think if I just saw the entire season on DVD, I'd be like a fiend and have to start watching weekly. :)
Mark, I'm not sure but you may be referring to Season One spoiler a scene at the beginning of Raised By Another. The episode where Claire has a dream that her baby is going to be taken. She sees Locke with a black eye and a white eye (a la his backgammon pieces).
I didn't read beyond the first two or three lines but Guo, if it makes you feel any better there's another 22 or 23 or 24 episodes left that can be spoiler free. :)
Rewatching the episodes again, obviously the surprises are gone but I can enjoy the top notch acting/direction/cinematography/editing, etc. You know the stuff that's better than nearly everything on television.
Amen! :) I think part of it is the...
Speaking of the music, am I the only one who heard strains of the Apocalypse Now score in the episode 'White Rabbit'? I'm not saying Giacchino ripped off but it was a deliberate move since Jack is searching the jungle for someone.
Maybe I'm nuts.:)
You can bet that instantly people are going to be saying "That's it? That sucked!!!! It was better when it was left to my imagination! Wahhh!" I guess what I'm trying to say is that the show is 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. Some people are never going to be happy. When they have no...
They did the same thing for an outtake on a commentary on Alias: Season Two. It's great to see what they're talking illustrated right then as opposed to seeing it in another part of the set (or not at all).
Personally, I like having to wait between episodes (although some of their breaks were pretty damn long :)). It makes the cliffhangers 'mean' more when I can't just hop to the next episode. For me, it's cool when you get to the end of an episode and say "Oh man! I can't wait to see the next...
A quick addendum to that is that the scenes deleted from the original version of the pilot didn't air when they aired both halves back to back either. It was just both episodes played back to back but the first half had no credits.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if you think Lost is 'less-than-mediocre', what current TV show is good in your opinion? Once again, I say that with all due respect (if you don't like it, you don't like it) but I can't imagine what shows you are watching if you consider Lost less than...
Actually I know a few people who said that same thing but to me that's like saying I've seen Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings or Citizen Kane or 24 (which probably relies more on twists and turns than Lost) or anything once so I don't want to buy it because there's no surprises. I enjoy the show...
No. It got the info from AICN. And while they may not be the most reliable source, I assume they did have the discs:) http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=20895
Unfortunately, no. There's commentaries on: “Pilot” commentary by creator-writer-director J.J. Abrams, creator-writer Damon Lindelhof and non-writing executive producer Bryan Burk. “Walkabout” commentary by actor Terry O’Quinn, writer David Fury and director Jack Bender. “The Moth”...
I watched it in high def and it sounds like the 'drop' in quality to SD won't be too bad. This (and the newly announced 24: Season Four) seem like they are possibly the best sets out this year! A great show deserves a great DVD:)
