Pre-Order Under Capricorn (1949)(Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Don't you think some of the color choices were dictated by the "Technicolor Color Director" that was required on earlier Technicolor productions. Dear Natalie Kalmus and Joan Bridge are both listed as technicolor color director and associate technicolor color director respectively. And since...

Technicolor screenshots from Blu-ray.com reviews: Red Shoes (1948) digitally restored from 4k Technicolor camera negatives in 2009. Jack Cardiff lensed this film. Under Capricorn (1949) restored digitally in 4k from Technicolor "negatives"(?) in 2017. Jack Cardiff lensed this film too...

Pre-Order Under Capricorn (1949)(Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Screencap from Blu-ray.com: A non-professional's Photoshop attempt to make the screenshot less insipid, hopefully better balanced: I'm sure a professional grade could bring the original negatives' scans to a much richer, more satisfying state. I'm sorry but Kino's (and BFI's) efforts don't...

Pre-Order Under Capricorn (1949)(Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

If the original camera negatives still exist then we need to start a gofundme and get Martin Scorsese and the Film Foundation involved. Pre-Order Under Capricorn (1949)(Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Wouldn't the blu-ray's front cover have been a little more effective with a black background?

Pre-Order Under Capricorn (1949)(Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

This is supposed to be the slipcover for the blu-ray. A peculiar image that doesn't reflect the film at all. However that Hitchcockian swirling curtain in front of the open window certainly is to his taste.

Pre-Order Under Capricorn (1949)(Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Boosting this thread because the blu-ray is coming on June 19! I don't think anyone has posted this from Kino Lorber's Facebook page: "Kino Lorber Studio Classics: We acquired the film from CBS. BFI handled the 4K scans of the original negatives and we're doing additional color corrections...
