Like others, I don't understand why Bale still gets labeled as "stiff" in this movie. It's like bitching about Anakin Skywalker being annoying. Bale is supposed to be stiff. John Preston was emotionally dead. He took drugs (like the rest of his society) that flatlined the emotional state...

Well, I hadn't heard a THING about this flick. Bad me. ;) A friend told my wife about it, and we rented it a couple of nights ago. It blew my mind! What a fantastic flick! Far too under-rated, and unfairly compared to Matrix/1984/etc. Bale rocked, the gunkata/action scenes were awesome...
