Great. I stand by those quotes as that’s what I and many others thought at the time. However of course I’m ecstatic I was wrong and he’s Back. Never thought it would happen ever. Obviously Terrific news.

Cooper is a fine actor and directed ASIB beautifully. But directing that drama and being in the gotg films does not in any way qualify him for directing a film of this magnitude. Nor does he want to. I doubt it ever crossed Disney’s mind to even consider him. I think it’s gonna be a while...

Of course there’s no harm but it’s just not gonna happen. The Cooper thing was never an option and the Gillian thing never will be. Disney is not going to gamble with this franchise. They’ve fouled it up enough already.

Interesting suggestion but Ain’t ever gonna happen with her either. Just like it was never gonna happen with Cooper. Disney will go with an established genre director or new talent. Not any actor or actor/director from any of the Marvel films. My money is on the Russo Bros.

The Gunn issue is dead. Dead and buried. Beaten to death. No amount of wishing or hoping or petitioning will bring him back. Ever. It’s DISNEY Time to move on.

Well I guess it depends on your definition of “bad jokes”. And the current “climate” certainly didn’t help.

And those people are clueless and have no idea what they are talking about. Nor have any understanding of boxoffice and how Hollywood works. Of course a sequel is coming. That was clear as soon as the second film opened.

Plenty of other better suited directors out there. Let’s hope Disney finds one soon. Jeez what a mess they have created.

I just don’t see him as a director suited to those type films. With one film under his belt it’s yet to be seen what else he can accomplish. I’m sure I’ll love ASIB but that doesn’t mean he can automatically tackle a huge sci if franchise. I also reserve the right to change my mind.:D

What now? Nothing. It will all die down soon now that it’s permanent. Bautista will report to work as will all the other cast. They’ve said their piece.

Not so sure about that Adam. The general public probably had little idea what went on. Nor did they care. The end result is what mattered. Most liked Solo but in the end I think most people just didn’t want to see a Solo movie.

You really think that, let’s say an up and coming Director, offered a huge opportunity to direct and put his signature on a major Marvel film in a series of blockbusters films is gonna turn it down because Gunn was fired?? No way. It’ll be mentioned in reviews at the time of its release and...

I don’t think it will. If it was Spielberg or Cameron or Scorsese maybe. But Gunn?? Nope.

Most of the moviegoing public have no idea who Gunn is. The controversy won’t affect Vol.3. Quality will.

Gunn should join the DC Universe.

The more I reflect on it, the more I like it. Going to see it again in IMAX 3D(which was terrific) this week. It's a much deeper film than the first.

Just got back. Loved it. Close to the first. Lots of fun. More later. And damn have they perfected the face technology cgi. The young Kurt Russel looked flawless.

Looks like it's headed towards a $140 million weekend.
