Are you not 3D capable yet Tim? I pretty much agree with your sentiment as I liked it too overall despite my many problems with it. But it is great in 3D and the current 3D bluray is excellent. Sequel is on track. Hope Mr. Of The Bull improves upon this one.
I would temper my expectations for Pacific Rim Tim. Many here liked it but many did not. I thought that while the effects were great as was the 3D, it was very uneven with mostly poor acting and a muddled storyline with more than a few dopey annoying characters. A missed opportunity. But it is a...
I don't remember laughing at all during Pacific Rim, which I believe was intentionally more serious than the Transformers films. And I also agree Transformers 1and 3 were better. And I believe those transformer films delivered what they intended..non stop absurd action with humor. Pacific Rim on...
I actually enjoyed Battleship much more than Pacific Rim....and I think that despite the fan love here for the film, I just don't think the general public cared that much for it. In a summer of big budget epic action/ disaster films, it was too little too late. I kinda liked it, but my...
Exactly. I see every film I can in IMAX and have never regretted it. It has always enhanced my experience. And IMAX presentations have come a long way in the seven tears since Poseidon was released( I don't even remember that film being available in IMAX ). See a current film in IMAX Edwin and...
I plan on seeing this again in IMAX 3D to see if my initial impressions change. I really wanted to love this film. Btw, boxoffice update from deadline Hollywood, looks like it will open less than first expected.
I'm a huge DelToro fan and I appreciate his attempt here. But the end result for me was disappointing. The effects themselves were excellent but the problem I had was how they were employed. They seem wasted by obscuring them with rain and darkness. I just didn't like the way the action scenes...
I would give the film ** 1/2 stars out of four. And I thought the other two "disaster" films of the summer were better..Star Trek and Man Of Steel. Btw, I agree with seeing this on the biggest screen available. Saw it in IMAX 3D and thought the presentation was awesome.
I was disappointed. I didn't hate it but thought it was pretty much a big mess. Reminded me too much of Godzilla and the Transformer films. All the action scenes were either in the dark and rain or underwater. We're they attempting to hide bad cgi? I don't think so so IMO it was a bad decision...
The one shot in the trailer that has bothered me since I saw it is when one of the robot is dragging a ship and uses it like a baseball bat. I'm no engineer but there's no way that ship can withstand the stress of being used like that. But then again we are talking about a film with giant...
