Thanks for all your help. I'm gonna wait until the w7500 is officially released and hope that brings the price of the 7000 down slightly. Again I appreciate everyone's help .
Not afraid of the dark haha, I think I'm going with the 7900...115" would be 1.0 gain, 120" would be 1.1 gain. I would have some ambient light but that would only be when we entertain.
It was a little hard to understand the Mitsubishi calculator, I thought the numbers on the right was off the floor. With a ceiling height of 90", my screen could be 18" off the floor if the projector is mounted flush, correct?
I'm using the projection calculator pro for the 7900 and its stating that a 115" screen will give me 16fL or a 120" with a 1.1 gain. Also, on mitsubishi's calculator is showing with lens shift off it will be 11" off the floor, lens shift on it will be 4". I would like it higher than that, can...
I'm trying to keep my options open on everything. I do like the w7000 because of the lens shift and brightness, worried about RBE. I would like to get an acoustic screen, do they only come in 1.0 gain??
If I change the screen to a 1.1 gain it gives me 16fL on a 120". 110" with a 1.1 gain puts me at 20fL. If the price is true on the press release than the w7500 is gonna be out of my price range.
Is there any noticeable RBE on either the mits 7900 or the benq 7000. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to these two, being a rookie at this, I am hoping for some facts to sway me in the right direction. You guys have been helping me out a lot and i do appreciate it.
I understand my budget allows for more , but who doesn't like to save a buck. I've been reading a lot of great reviews on it. Is there a calculator out there to figure out the height of the projector?
Just measured it up downstairs and I can fit a 120" screen. The link you posted about the screen mist be broken, sending me to Walmart.com for a 92" screen??
This is the wall i will be shooting to. The picture was taken close to where the projector will go, lighting is all the way up, no flash. I dimmed the lights all the way down and my camera wouldn't pick it up because it was too dark. Hope this can help about the ambient light. I would like a...
I've read some conflicting reviews on the 7900 (http://www.avsforum.com/t/1500154/mitsubishi-hc7900dw-owners-thread/30). CNET didn't give it a very good rating either. Thoughts on the benq w7000? Or LCD?
Gaming would not be its only use. Maybe 15% of the time. Its main use would be general TV and sports viewing. How would a dlp fair with ambient lighting?
I'm a noobie on this forum(first post), and I am looking for a projector to set up in my basement. Price point for this will be around $2500. It is an open layout but there is no lighting in a 23' x 16' area where the equipment will be set up, with a 7'-6" drop ceiling height. Throw distance...
