After just seeing Apocalypto, I can't imagine this being a big hit. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was great....just really different and kind of bizarre. Hope I'm wrong...:)

TerryRL, have you heard what the studio's expectations are for Casino Royale? What about folks like you who analyze these things? :) They had a cool teaser before The Prestige. I have been a big doubter of Casino Royale. Grew up a BIG Bond fan ( I could but won't tell some funny stories...

We can say that all these films have made their very last final $$ on it's "dying death"...That doesn't or shouldn't be used against them. Sith, only during it's final "dying days" surpassed Return of the King. Does that in any way in-validate (is that a word :D)...Star Wars box office take? No...

Wow. 1.7 million for Flyboys. :eek: It deserves better but I know the box office can be brutal for alot of good films. Still, I thought it might do a little better. Maybe High School Friday night football got in the way ;)

You're right Chuck. Depp won over many people...even those who really don't like him...as Captain Jack. His character portrays slyness, mischef, arrogance, good character when it counts, bravery, fondness of Rum :D, and oodles and oodles of charm. In addition he's got that good looking screen...

It's really amazing what Pirates 2 has done. Simply amazing.

I had only heard of it because my oldest daughter said, "Dad that hot guy from She's The Man is in this new movie, called "Step Up"...and we have to see it!....oh my God he's so hot"......:crazy: Life with girls, what's a Dad to do? :)

Thanks Terry. :) Yes, Dick & Jane grew on me too, along with the box office. I liked it ok, saw it again and liked it much more. Seen it several times on dvd. Not near as good as Bruce Almighty which I believe to be Carrey's best by a long mile but still pretty good. Tea Leoni really helped sell...

Big fan of Jim Carrey's stuff. Most of it at least. Didn't realize this...is it because his demands or other stuff? :)

Agree Chris. Seems like most new films drop pretty big after their opening weekend. MV most likely will too. Pirates has been out for awhile but could hold more of it's audience than Vice this week.

:laugh: You know the box office is sometimes strange. But maybe I misjudged the quality of Pirates 2? I did see it at Midnight and was kind of tired and we literally just watched Black Pearl that evening on a 120 inch screen with incredible sound. Pirates 1 was so good that I had very high...
