Speaking of "two replacement sets"... If, for some reason you purchased two sets of S2V1 DVDs, you will only be able to get one of them replaced. The fine print stipulates 'one replacement set per name/address/household.' I guess you'll have to get Aunt Tillie to send in your Proofs if you...
That's right...go ahead...drive the price up...clear the Best Buy shelves, so we have to fight for the one remaining copy in stores come September. :frowning:
There are already place holders for Season 3 Volume 1 and Season 3 Volume 2 on the Amazon web site. Incredibly, there's already a 1-Star "Review" complaining about the music. Some folks have too much time on their hands... or they simply love to see their nom de plume in print...
Yes, and personally, I think nothing should be said or done until (if) Season 3 is released. I maintain that S2V2 are the replacement discs, so no amount of b*tching and moaning is going to do any good. Most likely, Season 3 will be no worse than the semi-restored music in Season 2...and...
That idea, which I heartily support, makes me think about the TZ's "Definitive Editions" ...rather than another free Fugitive replacement program. Somewhere at CBS/P, there's a gleam in the eye of a marketing manager imagining a "Musician's Cut" version of THE FUGITIVE Volumes 1-4. :D
If any of the Cue Gurus here are so inclined, give a listen to GUNSMOKE Season 3 Volume 1 when you get OD'd with The Fugitive. I could swear there is replaced music among those eps. I base my suspicion on some of it being quite loud and intrusive, à la Heyes.
That's for sure! Unfortunately, the chances of a Fugitive box set with all the music restored to its original pristine 1965 condition is about as likely as having a David Janssen commentary accompany each episode. :frowning:
From the official Replacement Disc form... "In the event that consumers do not receive their replacement discs within the allotted time, or if they would like to follow up on their order, they may email: [email protected]"
Right on both counts! Synth = $ Orchestra = $$ Plus, as a former studio keyboardist, I can tell you it takes more than just a room full of instrument players to crank out stingers, cues, segues and codas. It takes fine instrumentalists under the direction of a skilled arranger. =...
It all centers on how hard-nosed (greedy, some would say) each individual music rights holder wants to be. The CD-ROM versions of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC have been held up for eight years because two photogs are fighting for money over two photographs they say were signed as "print only...
Sorry to say, but we're whistling past the graveyard if we think Season 3 and 4 will be back to the caliber of Season 1. The Rugolo music is thankfully back in Season 2. It should remain in Seasons 3 & 4. However, I would be shocked to learn that CBS/P has taken the trouble of finding and...
In the episode "Brass Ring"...
You are correct...the song is the famous circus march known as "Entry of the Gladiators" and it's in public domain. An equally tinny synth version is here: YouTube - Circus March (Entry of the Gladiators)
The missing Fugitive "Theme" music opening the Acts and Epilogues was the glaring change in S2V1 that alerted everyone to trouble ahead. All but the Almighty Curators of Cues might have missed most of the other music changes had they not been synthesized and glaringly loud. I say that with...
Folks, before this gets out of hand with S2V2 complaints... It would be best for all of us to realize that the DVDs released today are the replacement discs of Season 2 Volume 2.
