Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Glad people are discovering/re-discovering this great series so many years after it ended. Unpopular opinion: The Fugitive S04 is my favorite season of the series. The color doesn't bother me at all - and I also thought it would (the first time I saw this). Though, S03 runs a close 2nd.

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Yes, it took me at least 1-2 episodes to get used to the color. Agree that the new "color" opening sequence (using solid colors only) was initially odd - but I got used to that as well. I do like how they did not re-shoot the opening sequence, but kept the original & just added color without...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Additional thoughts Part 2 (didn't want to make my last post too long): -I watched the show exclusively on the old DVD sets (Volume 1, Part 1 - etc.). So, apparently I watched this with the modified music. Though I definitely didn't know what I was missing (since I wasn't around to see the...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Some additional thoughts on The Fugitive, which is a truly sublime TV series: -In a post I wrote when watching S03 last year, I stated that I was 100% sure S03 would end up being my favorite season of the series - due to it not only being a great season - but being the last one in b&w (I wrote...

Recently started watching the The Fugitive S04, Volume 02 DVD set - which features the final episodes of the series. It's bittersweet watching these great episodes, since I know the series will be ending all too soon. Some episode reviews: "The Other Side of the Coin": Kimble is working in...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Continuing with my S04 episode reviews. This is an incredible season! I know this may be an unpopular opinion on here - but I'm enjoying this almost as much as S03. -The Sharp Edge of Chivalry: Kimble is working as the all-around handyman/superintendent for a somewhat run-down apartment...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Some specific S04 episode reviews: -"The Last Oasis" - At the beginning of the episode, we find out that Kimble has been shot while escaping from the authorities in Arizona. Injured & almost unconscious, he is inadvertently found & rescued, and then taken to a local American Indian school for...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

After a 1+ year long hiatus from the series, I finally started watching The Fugitive S04 - specifically on the old DVD set (S04, Volume 1). Wow - I know I've probably said this before, but this is a hell of a great TV series. I had avoided watching S04 for so long due to knowing it was going...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

I found The Witch to be a strong episode, and one of my favorites from S01. It was extremely unsettling/creepy, with definite horror elements.

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Even though I want to find out how the series is resolved - I'm actually not really looking forward to TF S04. So, I will probably hold off on watching this. This is because S04 is the only season of the series in color. And, I've really liked the b&w aspect of the show, since it give the...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Part 3 of my S03 review: "All the Scared Rabbits": Kimble answers a newspaper ad to drive a woman & her daughter from the mid-west to CA. What neither the woman or Kimble know is that the daughter has brought a rabbit with her (that she took from her father's lab); and, the rabbit has a very...

Part 2 of my S03 review: "The Chinese Sunset": Kimble is working as a jack-of-all trades in the Chinese Sunset hotel in Los Angeles. While there, he meets an unsophisticated young woman (the gf of a criminal) who is staying at the hotel. The woman "recruits" Kimble to help her become more...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Recently finished watching The Fugitive S03. Amazing. This is one of the best seasons I've ever seen of any TV series. And, I'm 100% certain it will end up being my favorite season of the show. The noir elements were especially strong here, and the story-lines were suspenseful & well-done...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Thanks for bumping this thread with the info. on the probable re-release of the old Disks in the forthcoming new Fugitive set. I did finish watching S02 over the summer, and will hopefully start on S03 in the next month or so. I found S02 a very strong season, as good (if not better) than S01...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Thanks for the info. I haven't seen that many shows from this time period; the main two I'm familiar with in the '60's are the early seasons of Mission: Impossible & Hawaii Five O. And, HFO was primarily a '70's show first & foremost (having run from 1968-1980).

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Finally finished S01 of The Fugitive. Wow - I didn't know that this season had 30 episodes - very nice. I know 1960's TV series sometimes had more episodes than in later eras, but typically shows didn't have more than 23-24 episodes (at most) per season. Not that I'm complaining. This is...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Here are some individual episode reviews from the S01, Volume 1 DVD set. Though all of the episodes are either good or great, these are just some that particularly stood out for me: "The Witch" - extremely unsettling & somewhat creepy episode, with elements of psychological horror. Kimble is...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

I've watched through S01, EP15 of TF. Amazing. This is a fantastic series! Really gripping, compelling, and exceptional. Some general observations: It's interesting how Kimble inadvertently gets caught up in other people's lives when trying to help them - and this ends up becoming...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Thanks for the feedback. That being said, I don't see the handcuffs coming off/breaking off/twisting off from Gerard's due to the force of the crash/impact - that's extremely implausible. Though, for lack of a better explanation, I guess we have to "suspend our disbelief" here (ha ha). Yes, I...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Recently started watching The Fugitive for the very first time. I'm seeing this on the old DVD sets (Volume 1, Season 1). I've only seen the first three episodes of S01 so far, i.e. "Fear in a Desert City", "The Witch", and "The Other side of the Mountain". Excellent! Just based on these...

Fugitive comes to DVD in a 33 disc set on Nov. 1st 2011

Due to my relatively recent interest in old Quinn Martin TV shows (The Invaders, TSOSF) I have decided that my next classic TV show viewing will be the iconic 1960's series The Fugitive. I've never seen the series before (it was well before my time), but do remember the now-iconic 1993 Harrison...
