Remember Mike that Joan Allen's character and her team do not really know Bourne or what he is capable of. And Abbott (Brian Cox's character), a man who knows Bourne is reinforcing their suspicions rather than dissuading them from pursuing him. It seemed very sensible and realistic to me.
