Good luck anyone avoiding spoilers for the missing epilogue - they are loads of stories running with it, but it seems it was never on the cards for Season 4 and no indication if it will ever be in the show.
Motive ? Id say your own father sentencing you to death for a crime he knows you didnt commit and everything else we have seen or heard is motive enough. I agree the book version is probably better but I don't think the TV version is terrible either. I like the fact that it is a character we...
Just asking but what does the Tysha omission add that isn't already there ? Tywin's treatment of him is already harsh enough, then there isShae - what else is needed here ?
Josh, for good or bad I don't think the showrunners are making the change because they think the audience is not intelligent - I think it's because they recognise TV is a different medium to the books, they have less time and you respond differently to the medium. You make the point yourself -...
Personally I don't think they needed the backstory because of the change to Shae's character over the seasons and I think they were using her as a substitute. I think the backstory may have added to the motivation and would not be surprised if there is a deleted scene somewhere with that moment...
As a side note, I love the continued bird's eye views of battle sequences that are beautifully done and really give an epic feel to what is happening - re Stannis' attack on the Wildlings.
I'm also suprised they didn't finish with the epilogue from Book 3 as it completely blindsided me when I read it, but I guess this show doesn't do cliffhangers like that and would have made the wait for Season 5 even more unbearable - in truth having read Book 4 and just starting the fifth I...
Season 2's Blackwater had a similar structure and feel and was set in King's Landing only directed by the same guy which is why I think a lot of comparisons are being made with it.
I thought it was every bit as good as Blackwater and probably the budget allowed them to give it a more epic feel with those wonderful shots showing us the scale and geography of what was happening.
I also like how Ygritte's death was slightly different - thought it worked really well.
Thrones...
I knew it was coming but that was still a tense and brilliant end to another storming episode. And I loved the scene between Grey Worm and Missandei.
Pascal has been great this season and it is a real shame he had to go - even knowing the scene from the book I was still wondering whether they...
I must say I find the slight deviations interesting too and surprised by how well most of them work. I can tell from the episode titles where this is going to finish this season too and while I love the books I have read, I miss not knowing what was coming next on the show :) But you know when...
You know I second that. In fact one of the best things about this thread up until this season is it allows people who haven't read the books to come and discuss the episodes without worrying about knowing where it is going. I heard little hints about the Red Wedding before it happened but...
Finally finished Book 3 and started A Feast of Crows, which means judging by the trailer, I'm now ahead in the books for the first time. Not sure how I feel about this since the Red Wedding took me completely by surprise in the show and now I know what is coming - well this season anyway. But it...
I was able to attend a Q and A with Peter Dinklage a few days ago. Didn't reveal anything except he starts back this week, but also because he mentioned he hasn't read the books either apart from the first one so he only knows what's going to happen from the scripts.
He also mentioned that the...
Every news article seems to have decided to spoil exactly what event Marshall will be directing which is a bit annoying for me, though the event in question is not really a surprise in that its obviously coming at some point. Unfortunately, some have also spoiled the outcome.Should be good, I...

As to whether I know, I can only point to learning this in school over 20 odd years ago. Im not sure how you wish me to know for a fact, just trying to answer your question. Thats what my History teacher told us :)
UK education system in my time tended to cover World History more than...
I think it has something to do with Henry VIII as I think Kings and Queens were called Your Grace before him. Probably something to do with the shift from Catholicism to Protestant. I believe Kings and Queens of Scotland were also called Your Grace before the Union
