Out of the list above, I already have Serenity, A Few Good Men and Deadpool, and am interested in:
Jurassic Park (only the 1st film when they get released separately)
Gladiator
Die Hard
Saving Private Ryan
Grease
The Greatest Showman
latest Star Wars film
The Shape of Water
I'm not sure about...
If I count items I have ordered but not received yet, I am up to a whopping 50 films in 38 collections. It's actually more than I thought I would have almost a year after getting my first player, which I bought at the end of January.
The extended versions of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy is definitely one of the top items on my UHD wish list. If this goes anything like the BD releases, though, we will probably get the theatrical versions of the films first. I'll pass on those.
Dave,
I would be in for several of those titles you listed -- the first two Alien films, My Fair Lady, Singin' in the Rain, The Sound of Music and even Rogue One. However, I wouldn't watch Armageddon again if someone put a gun to my head.
After my "Black Friday" purchases, I am now up to...
Lionsgate has a pretty good track record for dropping their prices, so I'm sure I will still be able to get it for less than $20 before too long. I have more titles to watch on my shelf and pre-ordered than I have time to watch over the next month, so there's no rush.
Not only are the initial prices all over the place from studio to studio, but the rate at which street prices drop also varies greatly. For example, I was able to pick up Deadpool a few months ago for $13.50, but I have no hope of seeing Guardians of the Galaxy 2 drop even to $20 from Disney for...
I picked up Bram Stoker's Dracula at Walmart today for $19.96. They also had John Wick 2 available for the same price. I decided to pass on that one for now, as I think it will drop more and I have several things to watch right now (and hockey season is starting), so I wouldn't get to it for...
Those deer must have been retired, too. :)
Hopefully Amazon will be price matching Bram Stoker's Dracula soon. I hate shopping at the Walmart closest to our house. Besides, I still have some Amazon credits I could apply to the purchase.
Will do, Mike. I think yours was one of the positive reviews that put this on my wish list. We probably will not be able to watch it until the weekend, though.
I just noticed via the back cover that Kick-Ass is encoded in Dolby Vision -- the 2nd such title in my collection. Unfortunately, while...
My 28th UHD title should arrive today -- Kick-Ass. I have been trying to avoid blind buying UHD titles just to get something in the new format (as Robert alluded to above), but I took a chance on this one based on what I've read about the film and its great price -- plus I used Amazon credits...
I can see that if you are into 3D. That's not a consideration for me, but I am still purchasing new BD titles -- mostly of older films that have little or no chance of ever being released on UHD. For example, I just finished watching my new BD copy of Ride The High Country -- there's almost zero...
There are not a lot of UHD titles I'm interested in, either. I am up to 12 UHD titles in my collection, and I just ordered Hacksaw Ridge after it's price dropped to $18. So far, I have paid under $20 for all the UHD discs in my collection, and only two were over $15 -- Hacksaw Ridge and La La...
Brad, the Oppo UHD player is indeed $549. If I end up buying a player, it will probably be that one.
So far, none of the titles I see in the collection photos posted in this thread entice me to want to buy a player, though. Maybe the original Ghostbusters if I did not already have the...
