Laugh it up, fuzzball! You earned it, mostly!
All three problems solved. Two out of three were not solvable in 2011. And they went 1.5" bigger than what you were clamboring for, Win/win/win I say.
I'm still not convinced they fully solved point #1. But the rest of the solutions have...
Tracks with the premise of the OP:

But I wouldn't say the market necessarily chose it, the marketers have.
Say what you want about Apple but they'd never do something like this:

Wanna bet just how close to 4" the perfect size is?

Yeah that was kinda the point of my size list, I shoulda added the Mega to the list. I expect all of you Androidists are gonna flock like seagulls to the Mega cause bigger is better, amirite? (sarcasm alert)
Guess I should have added a smiley Matt, I was being 100% sarcastic. It looks like a great update under the hood even if the devices look nearly identical from their plastic shell. I'm just echoing the press here saying exactly that: no breakthrough features but who cares, faster better...
Guess all the innovation has gone out of Samsung and they are on their way to losing their cool, amirite? https://twitter.com/iDannyOcean/status/312360077719900160/photo/1
Before you accuse me of flip flopping again, remember this:
When I link to this: http://www.imore.com/imagining-5-inch-iphone I post that because I think it is interesting, not because I want one. I think the current size is perfect for the way I use a phone but it is hard to argue with this...
Many of those are carrier deals (ie not unlocked if thats what you mean) via Best Buy, Walmart and other 3rd parties which somehow have to show that they are even necessary. And regarding a June Phone being the best only 8 months later, you can say that is both a pro and a con to the Android...
As I said, not so much for phones but you do see Androids on sale a lot more often. I've seen all but the latest and greatest Androids as cheap as free regularly on Slickdeals. A number of my coworkers have taken advantage of them. And of course the carriers spiff those phones much better than...
I'd propose an alternate theory (on tablets, not so much phones): Cheap is in. Also, not sure if any panel makers have ventured into the 12/15 size yet. That's a blocker right there.
You guys might wanna reread those articles and the changes that WSJ has edited in... http://bgr.com/2013/01/14/iphone-5-analysis-component-cuts-291307/ http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/01/14/us-apple-iphone-demand-idUSBRE90D04B20130114 WSJ on "why"...

I wouldn't bet for or against that, but making that prediction continues to show how weird your view of Apple and Benchmarks is to me.... I honestly have no idea how you could come to that conclusion. Anyway, buyers are gonna need bigger cargo pants for this one...
Did you even look at the link, Hanson? Pants themselves are quite tapered and are almost "skinny jean" designed. It's the big buckets formed by the loose pocket that is the evolutionary adaptation here.
I'm a fat guy. My pockets are no bigger than on an average persons pockets. It's easy to...
Pants are adapting to this trend!!!!
