I just saw the nomination list today. I just wanted to congratulate all the people at Lucasfilm for their achievement in receiving no less than 7 Nominations for Star Wars Episode II : Attack of the Clones at the 23rd Annual Razzie Awards!
Couple of weeks ago there were some discussions about ILM artists who left ILM and Star Wars to go to work on the remaining Lord of the Rings movies. Lots of uncertainty if it was true or not. Well at least we know one for sure:
I think the lightsaber duels of AOTC are excellent and the way to go. As I mentioned before, to me, the lightsaber fights of TPM are the worst of the Star Wars movies. Too much dancing around for my taste!
I forgot about Gabriel Byrne. It’s not that much a rumor. It’s grounded in reality. Byrne himself said it officially that he was (is) in negotiation with Lucasfilm.
I have no problem with the dialog during the asteroid chase. I think Boba is great there with his sinister laugh. My only problem is with the entire introduction scene at the Fett home. From the start where Boba opens the door and says “Yup!” to the end of that sequence everyone acts so below...
For space battles, I want them to be done ANH way and not ROTJ way. The ANH battle is more intimate and dramatic and has much more character. The space battle in ROTJ is one big mish mash with ships far away with not that much emotion. Still ROTJ space battle is light years better than TPM’s.
Having seen the movie several times, I’m 99% sure that there is not one single real Clone Trooper in the movie. They are all CG! I’m not sure if it was a good decision.
