    Avatar 1 will have 3 different versions of the movie included via branching, so a new encode, but not necessarily a new master.

    Yes, but the shot is held longer, and it's in slow motion, so it's much more noticeable.

    That shot looked absolutely awful in the 2023 IMAX 3D version. Exhibit A in the case for allowing filmmakers to tinker with VFX shots in their old films.

    I can't speak for every theater, but the one I saw it in definitely presented it in 2.35. Cameron released Avatar in multiple aspect ratios, so it's entirely possible the same was done for the Titanic re-release.

    The IMAX 3-D version that came out last February(?) was 2.35:1 ( I was surprised, because based on the previous 3-D release, I was expecting 1.85).
