I was originally planning to watch more movies on Halloween day, but I wasn't feeling too well and was just too tired, almost fell asleep during Suspiria! :frowning: Anyway, this is what I watched: 28. Suspiria 29. Carrie (1976) (my favorite movie of all time) I didn't reach 31, but oh...
Some more to add that I watched this weekend: (* = first time viewing) 18. Theater of Blood 19. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) 20. Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell* 21. Halloween 22. Halloween II 23. City of the Living Dead 24. Day of the Dead 25. The House on the Edge of...
17. The Shining (1980) - Another one of my favorites. Although it is a little overlong, it's still a fascinating portrait of a man gone mad and Nicholson is absolutely brilliant.
16. Countess Dracula* - I must say that I thought I would like The Vampire Lovers more than this film, but I found it to be quite enjoyable. Certainly a pleasant surprise.
15. The Vampire Lovers* - A good Hammer vampire film that is pretty creepy, but at other times corny. A bit slow paced, but I like it (and Ingrid Pitt, among other things ;)).
14. The Haunting (1963)* - This was my first time seeing this film and I must say I found it to be quite a pleasant surprise. Although talky and a little dated, it still has the power to put chills down your spine and make you think about what you just watched. There are no visual thrills... all...
13. Cannibal Ferox - Another of my favorites, this grisly (but nevertheless cheesy) cannibal film is not for all taste, but I love it. :D Looks like I have reached the minimum... so I suppose I'll try for 31! :)
12. Tourist Trap - This is one criminally underrated horror film that creeps me out everytime I see it. It also have a fantastic score by Pino Donaggio. :)
11. Dressed To Kill - Another of my all-time favorites, this is one I just had to watch. Fantastic performances by Angie Dickinson, Michael Caine, and the lovely Nancy Allen, and brilliant direction by Brian De Palma. Some may say it's a rip-off of Psycho, but I consider it more of a homage...
10. Candyman - One of my all-time favorite horror films, this one always creeps me out. Virginia Madsen gives a remarkable performance and Tony Todd is suitably evil as the Candyman. I also love the score that plays throughout the movie, it's beautiful and haunting at the same time. Highly...
(* = first time viewing) 9. The Masque of the Red Death* - Great Vincent Price movie, although it's not my favorite. It has an expensive, colorful look to it, and is pretty spooky at the end. I also like the use of slight humor throughout.
My list so far: (* = first time viewing) 1. Psycho II - A wonderful film that is in some ways better than Hitchcock's original, IMO. 2. Tombs of the Blind Dead - Creepy little Spanish living dead film of sorts, I like it a lot although it isn't the best zombie film ever made. 3. Piranha*...
Just got back from the weekend... watched a bunch of movies I got at Wal-Mart for $10 a piece (except for The Tenant, which was $5.88 in the bargain bin), well all except Psycho II and Tombs of the Blind Dead, which I owned before that. :D Here's my list so far: 1. Psycho II 2. Tombs of...
