I tend not to care for modern musicals either. Find them too over the top, self consciously broadway in a bad way. "Chicago" and "Nine" looked unpleasant in the trailers so I never bothered with them. "Moulin Rouge" left me flat.
"Singin' In The Rain" might be my all time fave, it's definitely up there. I really liked the others that Teller mentioned. that said, I agree with you Edwin-S. Many may find these films pretty corny. I have a hard time believing that the "tough guy having to watch a group of kids and is...
I couldn't imagine hating any genre of film. I enjoy musicals and gore porn. A good movie is a good movie, it doesn't matter when it was made, how it was made, where it was made or what type. If it's good it's good. that said, I recently detested "A Safe Place" that can be found in the...
I know I'm being a snooty jerk with this, but the physics really pull me out of the world the movie creates ha ha. They're alien robots that transform into cars. I can buy that. The thing is though, is they are GIANT robots that turn into regular sized cars. How the hell does this work...
I wont defend Iron Man 2 since I agree with you. It's way to caught up in it's smug characters and is much to low on the action front. That said, no modern movie I can think of can top Transformers /Transformers 2 on the crap scale. For me anyways. The Transformers series gets so much...
I forgot about that second Pirates movie. I despised it. My problem with it was, the first "Pirates Of the Caribbean" was a very traditional, classic pirates tale at it's heart, with the twist being the Pirate was bonkers. It made for a fun and clever film. That second one though was all...
I was going to mention "Lady In The Water", but "Cars" beat it out on my hate list. "Lady In The Water" looked dodgy from the get go, and I got shanghaied into going to it. A truly awful movie, to be sure. It was more about Shyamalan bruised ego as it was about anything else.
My reason for hating it is it doesn't make any sense! They're cars! They have no arms! How the hell do they maintain themselves?!?! It's "Maximum Overdrive" made more retarded! "Finding Nemo" works because despite being fish, they mostly behave as fish, and the toys of "Toy Story" behave...
I didn't like this one either, for the same reason. That said, the only film I turned off that I can remember was "Alone In the Dark". It was funny bad at first, but then it just sucked the energy out of the room. I don't all out hate it like "cars" though.
I love hate threads! some of my favorite films are hated! Everything by Kubrick?? Bwaa ha haa!!! I'm surprised John Waters films like "Pink Flamingos" haven't been mentioned yet. :P That said, my most detested film is "Cars" by Pixar. I love Pixar and everything they've done. Other then...
