Of course they allow marketing. The difference is, these are all set up in the previous movie as opposed to a BATMAN & ROBIN situation where various Batsuits and such were dictated by the studio heads specifically for toy sales. Nolans films seem to be done the opposite, he makes them as he...

-New "tricked out" Batmobile. Makes sense based on TDK -New "ticked out" Batcave. Makes sense seeing as it was blown up in BB -Return to Wayne Manor See above -New female lead. Sadly inevitable. I would like to see just one superhero movie without some dumb romance...

well, Supes is a science hero ain't he? the thing is, what Nolan is doing right in these films has nothing to do really with him being all the brilliant a film maker, it has to do with him treating the sorce material seriously. this is something they've been doing right in the comics, and all...

Not interested in fanciful elements? ummm.... Batmobile that looks like a tank drives over roof tops... Batman has a sonar gadget in his boot that summons about 10,000 bats... Scarecrow is a guy in a potato sack who poinsons half of gotham with a "fear gas", and thats just the first film... no...

I didn't mean to imply that you wanted over blown joker like characters. I was trying to say that by using the gritty route that the Joker is in the Nolan picture for all the villains, you fall in to the trap that Burton did where where every villain tried to be as wacky as Jack Nicholson was...

But then your repeating one of the many mistakes of the first series, where each villain was basically a goofy over played Joker, except this time, a dour gritty Joker....

Wait, did I miss something? I'm pretty sure in the Nolan films, Batman is a costumed vigilante called... ummm... Batman? If costumed super villains worked for 70 years of comics or whatever, they should be adaptable in a movie, regardless of the director. Otherwise you have a movie of the week...

Really? I see him doing it the same way he did the rest of it. Don't treat Robin like a comic book kid side kick, but as a troubled kid who lost his family, stumbles across the bat cave, and then wants in. The Nolan films work mainly cause he doesn't treat the world or the characters in comic...

That's funny. I was just going to suggest they introduce Robin. Robin is a great character, and without him, Batman's just a lone nut vigilante. Robin serves as his moral compass and humanizes him, as Wayne get's redemption through Robin. If they did the Tim Drake model done in the comics and on...

I'm not so much concerned with the actors chosen (though agree that Jolie is a lazy choice, how about Devon Aoki? That girl who played Miho in sin City?) but with them matching the number of super villians with the movie number. the old series suffered from this, and ended up with bad movies...
