I don't think it's a huge investment for the studios to keep re-releasing the same
catalog titles over again.
In many cases (but not all) these days, all they are doing is taking the same disc
and putting it in new packaging.
Warner is not the only culprit. Fox is apparently doing it right...
This is similar to a HTF member pointing me to a thread in another Blu-ray
forum where a member there comes out and states (out of the blue) that
the upcoming 2D version of The Wizard of Oz is a brand-new transfer.
...well, all indications from what I have gathered is that it is probably not...

So, Warner does occasionally state that certain reissues do have
a brand-new transfer? Forgive me, I don't read all the press releases
I post that thoroughly.
If that is the case, I would assume that Oz and The Exorcist are the
same transfers in new...
They absolutely seem to be. I have been hitting roadblocks talking with
people at Warner that don't usually stall me when I ask them questions.
You would think the studio would be smart to state, if it is, that is is.

So, okay, I finally had the chance to actually read this press release.
I am guessing as far as the film is concerned, nothing new as far as
more added footage over the previous The Version You've Never Seen release.
