Neither with my 4k JVC NX7
That was the most pristine image I have ever seen from a projector. It was just....amazing!
I was using an Apple TV.
I think what's processing the picture is just as important. An Apple TV would do much better than an Amazon Firestick. I would think, however, the...
This is a big issue with evaluating streaming quality.
One has to consider the available Internet bandwidth to handle the stream
One also has to consider what exactly is processing that picture.
As I stated before, even with a really fast WiFi connection I had to switch to ethernet in order...
Gotcha!
Oliver, I do need to make certain: you do have a very fast Internet connection, yes?
Even with my very fast WiFi connection, I actually had to connect my Apple TV to ethernet as grain and picture degradation were being introduced without it.
Is there even a rumor that this is going to be released to 4k disc?
I mean, Sony has been quietly releasing all their huge catalog titles exclusively to digital in 4k.
You would *think* this would be a no-brainer but the market right now for catalog titles going 4k is definitely swinging in...
Mike,
Thank you. I didn't want to be the only one to experience this brilliance.
This movie, alone, could sell people on the 4k digital model.
Of course, if you have a shitty WiFi connection in your home you will never be able to achieve that kind of brilliance.
But, yes, thanks for...
I posted this in another thread in the digital streaming forum...
I just bought Lawrence of Arabia on digital for $4.99 today.
Since I was watching another film I bought at the same time, I only sampled a few scenes of Lawrence.
I could not believe what I was seeing. It was the absolute most...

I saw this statement a few days ago while reading this
thread at work, and I wanted to circle back to it when I
had the opportunity to reply.
That's really a remarkable discovery for me.
At the end of the film, I immediately connected Lawrence
with the motorcycle...
I have been very open on this forum that my introduction
to classic film came rather late in life with the birth of DVD.
Higher resolution and proper framing were the things that
made these classics easier to enjoy. Before DVD came
along, it was a chore watching the classics I had...

No, you are correct.
I just looked at it again.
The US release is 2-disc
The European release is 2-disc as well.
Both priced about the same. The European
release comes a few weeks earlier than the
U.S. release. I can wait it out just to have
a domestic copy...
My thoughts certainly won't be popular here.
I originally ordered the UK smaller boxed set
that was to be released weeks before the US release.
I have since cancelled.
I can't say I am a huge LOA fan. Have only seen
the film once -- don't remember much about it --
and...

Wade,
Yes, that link was previously posted, but thank you again.
Some of us, including myself, have preordered the UK version
as it comes without all the swag at a more affordable price.
Too many boxed sets to consider this year.
Made up my mind on this. Personally, I think
this set is priced a bit high. Would have snatched
it up for $50. I'll probably opt for the swag-free
import version at $20.
Preorder price of $67.19 on Amazon

Yeah, I am also eyeing that UK release at $17 as I am
pessimistic about Sony's domestic price being close to
that.
($19.40 shipped. Let's see if Sony can match that)...
Monday is usually a big day for Sony announcements
(as is for Warner)
Fox usually tends to announce on Thursday and Friday.
No real science here. Just things I tend to notice.
So, my bet would be Monday. However, it could be
later in the week.
How's that for...
