I have an Oppo DV-981HD. It's a DVD player but an exceptionally good one. You haven't wasted your money. By the way it only plays SACDs via the HDMI cable, not through the audio outputs. Sony make good Blu-ray players. I don't know the one you bought but my guess is you'll be all right. One...
