    It is appalling, knowing that we're much more educated when it comes to aspect ratios today than we were 50 years ago!

    I think pretty much all of us agree that the Criterion Blu-ray should have been released in widescreen. The problem is Criterion never cared to correct their error in judgment with the 1.37 ratio, by not releasing it in 1.66 or 1.85 ratio.

    There is a sense of arrogance with them and have demonstrated it over the years. I would have been fine with 1.66.
