Actually, I joined the HTF circa 1995 when it was text only on the Delphi service (which I downloaded daily with my rip-roaring 2400 baud modem). I mostly lurked in those days. I still have all the posts from back then in a large .txt file. There were only a few dozen (if that) members who...
Thanks for all the scans David. That was a lot of work.
If you weren't so far away, I'd invite you down to CT for the inevitable MFL party when it's released on BD in all its restored glory. This will surely be the home video event of the year! :)
I've been suffering from a severe case of "upgrade-itis" for the last 30 years. 1080p BD and 120" front projection has sent this very expensive condition into remission. Hopefully it won't rear it's ugly head again for at least another 5 - 10 years. ;)
As I still have my MFL laserdisc box set (with the 70mm film frame, CD, etc.) I'm happy that I won't need to pay extra for similar material this time.
Besides, I already spent good money for the first lousy BD release which is useless now.
But what a treat this is going to be come December! :)
There can be no disputing the fact that last BD release of MFL was in very bad form.
Better to have cropped off the ugly brown edges.
Hopefully, this will be corrected before I shed this mortal coil.
Please continue this Illuminating discussion.
