I noticed the blurring, but the film is completely, utterly watchable. It's really an oustanding package with enlightening extras. The commentary, while dense and dry, is packed with info. I'd definitely recommend it.

I asked Dennis Doros, owner of Milestone Films, which released The Phantom of the Opera: Ultimate Edition, about the blurring of motion on the DVD. He offered the following explanation:
