Currently a little past episode 700 and was curious will Barnabas ever be a vampire again, besides the back in time storylines? There isn't much damaged element to him otherwise not that there is anything wrong with that. Just curious.
It is hard to go back thru and re-watch the show. It has taken me over 4 years roughly to watch the first 700 eps. I usually watch a disc or so at a time and then take a break. Juggling TV shows here also so it gets tough. Just depends on my mood I suppose.
I would go back and watch some of...
He passed away in December, from what I read it was very unexpected.
Also funny you mentioned MH,MH i have been watching that series also. I'm over midway thru that series but like DS I go back and forth and watch in some mini marathons depending on my mood.
I've just hit Episode 700! There is a lot of yelling haha My roommate thought I was watching an old Norman Lear show. (Cause I usually am)
It feels bittersweet typing on this thread with Ockeghen (Scott) no longer with us.
Just finished Episode 667 and I've noticed the pacing of the episodes have really sped up in good ways or maybe it is just me a lot of things seem to be happening. Also I've noticed Dan Curtis as director on many of the episodes ive just been watching. It has been so long since I started the...
I watched all of Disc 68 I think it got up to Ep 655. So the episodes were really good IMO. The story just seemed to go fast compared to other storylines. I really like the medium who showed up and I was hoping she got to have a scene with Grayson Hall because she is my favorite. Even if her...
the original Burke has been mentioned on this past page of the thread and I really loved the original Burke and I loved the episodes known as The Begining. I am currently on Disc 67 I think it is. but I would have to check to see what eps. I think 630-something I think?
In one episode I just...
Not sure how interested any of you are in the NON Limited Edition Coffin Box Set, but it looks like the it will be a lighting deal in about 5-6 hours. Curious what the pricing will be. (Scroll thru the listings for Dark Shadows and other upcoming deals)...
EP 545 If Cassandra keeps playing that recording the Dr made... Julia is bound to eventually walk in lol In fact Julia should just wait around Cassandra loves listening to it.
Also I am missing the main DS characters so much.. They barely have Joan Bennett in the show around this point...
I am sure this question has been asked before but for all the hardcore DS fans out there without spoilers etc... Does the series end with any closure? Or does it just end abruptly? If so how much notice was it the show was given when it was canceled?
Currently on Ep 526 I can't believe Angelique is back and wants to continue that tired "dream curse" she needs to try something else lol but it is still fun :-)
Currently watching Season 1 of Kojak and low and behold Lara Parker shows up lighting up the police station office. Always nice going thru the old shows and great guest stars show up! Richard Jordan is also in the dame ep. Along with Ken Kerchival of Dallas. episode is titled Dark Sunday.
I agree with Brian and many others... this is probably the one chance wehave for WB's to restore the cut and release it correctly. I doubt they would do another release. In fact if they would just do the restoration they have my permission to charge a higher retail price! Just do it right the...
I agree it was told by so many we were going to see the longer cut of NoDS and this seems disappointing ESP since new dialogue had been recorded for the restoration Right?
One more thing I would like to point out about a difference between the film and show and that is, I felt like
Angelique on the show seems far more dangerous. It seemed like that if it were J. Frid against Eva Green then Frid would have whipped her. Depp in the role while he proved he has...
the tone of Sleepy Hollow is more dramatic with some hints of humor, nothing like DS. Yet like Burtons DS it isn't 100% true to the original... but the less you know the more you will enjoy it.
I enjoy Elfman's score a lot on Sleepy Hollow also.
Scott you've never seen any other Burton films? You new a blu ray player bad!
Watch Sleepy Hollow that should have been Burtons dramatic tone for Dark Shadows. In fact Sleepy Hollow feels more like soap opera.
I watch Mad Men but only when it gets released on BLU each season. A friend told me they mentioned the tv show on last nite episode for those who like that kind of trivia.
Yeah I think that many who ventured out to see the film may have only heard of the show. At least everyone around me seemed to enjoy it more so. I know as fans of the series we tend to be more hardcore on the changes but at the very least it does bring attention to the series. I doubt we have...
I went to see it at a 7pm show last nite and the Apple Valley IMAX in MN which is the largest screen in the midwest. (However doesn't mean much for a film not filmed with IMAX cameras but still)
I will use spoiler blocks as well and typing this without reading Scott's two previous posts...
Roger Ebert posted his review of the film, and it seems as we probably all expected it is
so/so Starts off great but loses its energy. Oh well. We could tell from the Trailer it wasn't going to match up to the series. Just a shame that Burton who claimed his love for the series lost it in...
I rec'd my Danny Elfman Dark Shadows Score CD from amazon today. his full entire score is serious and never comical. It has some good music mainly, I collect all of Elfman's scores and even has the massive Burton Elfman Box Set. in recent years it seems Elfman IMO can't come up with a main theme...
I already bought tix at my Apple Valley MN IMAX for Friday nites DS. That particular screen is known as the largest in the mid west. I believe it will only play there 2 weeks until MIB 3 comes out.
Watching ep 452, correct me if I am wrong but which EP was it that MPI was correcting with the blooper that was deleted by accident on the original DVD release?
