    the point is, what did they look like in the 70s? I've not seen them. did they exist? I remember what they looked like in the 90s because I have one in my garage.

    No, they didn't. They were white on the top that said SPEED LIMIT in black letters, and the bottom half was black with NIGHT 55 (or 65) in white letters. The state didn't replace every sign in the state, rather put a big sticker over the lower half.

    People still do it in CO Mike... when you can. Tough on the interstate. There's one offramp that goes up to an overpass with a big bare dirt field next to it, and always has a bunch of cars parked in it, cops like to sit up there because they're hard to see, even LOOKING for them I can't pick...

    it is 75 in the non-metro areas of colorado, and is just fine. 85 would be fine, 95 would be fine, 105 would be fine. People will drive what people want to drive, speedlimits just generate revenue.

    mostly I just run from castle rock up to lincoln on 25, traffic down here rolls about 70-75 even in the 75 zone most days it seems. I think it's because that corridor is SO FREAKING OVER PATROLLED! For a year or better every day there would be at least 2-3 state patrol cars running radar...

    I've really never noticed it Joe. Maybe it's a difference of living down south, I do notice north of say arapahoe the asshole factor goes up on I25 :D
