Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Why not that is essentially what happened as far as Anakin knew. She just showed up. Showing us on film didn't accomplish anything except to add the worst scene in the movie.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Going back a bit. I just finished the novel and the worse scene in the movie where Padme jumps up and says she's alright get me to the hanger, it's not in the novel. Why did he add this scene to the movie when it turned out like total crap. I can't imagine anyone not making the connection that...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

As for all of these bad lines and they way they are portrayed, leave some of the scenes in the middle (from the novel) that connect all of this and cut down on some of the eye candy at the end. The novelization really lays out the romance stuff very well.

Tobey would have been a great choice for an actor if you didn't need someone with a certain stature. Lucas had to select an actor with a certain look and size. Tobey wouldn't have been physically imposing enough to pull the job off. As far as the OT Mark Hamill was a virtuall unknown before...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Terrell, I don't think that will accomplish it either. It will have to be a totally new and fresh idea that hasn't been done before. For me it was the Matrix. That film brought back the type of excitement I had with Star Wars because it was new and fresh. I'm thrilled to be seeing the...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Norm, I hope we don't have to worry about III. He has stated that he basically has to tell the story and he knows it's going to be dark and probably not as marketable to the youngsters. I don't think we're going to see Jar Jar get beaten to a pulp like some people might like but we will see a...

Norm, I would think about it alot too if I had that much cash coming in.:D

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Matt, I thought I heard Lucas give this argument to Chung on the CNN interview when she brought up how much of a disappointment it was. He said that the critics don't like it but they also didn't like the first 3 yet TPM made $431 million. On a side note about the CNN special. I thought...

Matt, that proves exactly what I think. Critics don't know a damn thing when it comes to popcorn flicks.:D

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Simon, I agree about the Anakin/Padme story. In the novel there are some scenes with Padme and her family where her older sister virtually has to slap her upside the head for Padme to see that she loves Anakin. The kiss and her abrupt break off is her attempting to control her emotions because...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

I haven't been bothered by much of the acting. Here is what has bothered me off the top of my head OT: none that I can think of. TPM: Jar-Jar (not necessarily bad acting just a bad character) Annie (terrible lines but also poor delivery on some of the better lines) AOTC: The only...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Okay changing the subject a bit. I was completely spoiled for TPM (read the book), fairly spoiled for AOTC (read most spoilers) and want to be spoiler free for III. What if for the marketing of III Lucas puts no images out for promotional material. The trailer would give star names fading in...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Chuck, I know after your first viewing you were a little disappointed and was going to give it another try. Have you, and if so, has your opinion changed. I know you took alot of grief with the whole "not being a true fan" stuff right after the release. Not trying to start anything up again...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

When you saw Padme the handmaiden it was then that the queen was actually a decoy. Pretty much the whole movie except the beginning and while at the senate Padme is acting as a handmaiden and a decoy is acting as queen. That's why the decoy queen looks to Padme when Qui-Gon suggest they leave...

I too am hoping we find out more about Shmi "There is no father" line. She looked like she was hiding something to me.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

MatS Supposedly, Yoda and Obi-Wan will be the only 2 Jedi to disappear and this is supposed to be explained in III. As you can tell from my response this is all up in the air until the spoilers start appearing next summer and fall.

Terrell you're going to have to ignore Gruson as I've already read that same message in the other two threads. He obviously doesn't like the film and wants to make sure that anyone who actually does enjoy knows that he doesn't.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

I think this whole balance thing is a little off. The way I look at is he does bring balance in that he destroys all of the good jedi except for two, Yoda and Obi-Wan. That leaves the galaxy with 4 Jedi. Palpy, Vader, Yoda and Obi-Wan. 2 good 2 bad. Perfect harmony. The only drawback is the 2...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Patrick this was during the battle at the end when we didn't have to worry about bad lines. It might have been the whole "Are you OK? Yes (I just fell out of a speeding ship and conveniently landed on all of this soft sand just a mere 5 feet below me). Get me a ship. I have to get to that...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Ron, I would suggest checking it out yourself first. I agree that the gore is kept low like all SW films, however the final battle is fairly violent (decapitation and slice and dice with the lightsabers). A girl (6-9 yrs old) sitting behind me was actually crying during the final battle of the...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

MatS I agree about the Padme falling off the ship was weird. Yoda didn't bother me. Shmi was missing for 30 days. I believe or hope we will find out more about this scene which I believe is eerily similar to Luke being drawn to Bespin.
