I think they've been dropping hints ever since Sara was brought in for the Holly Gribbs case. There was, in my mind, clearly something more than just a professional history evident in that scene in the second episode when Grissom was dropping dummies off the hotel roof.
I thought last night's episode ("Killer") was pretty interesting, taking a page from L&O:CI and telling part of the story from the viewpoint of the killer. And William Sadler and Robert Patrick: Seperated at birth? I until he shaved the beard, I could have sworn it was Patrick.
I thought the way they handled the "recap" on this episode was clever. Instead of "Previously on CSI", we go straight into the story and have a briefing for the Sheriff that recaps part one.
So how about Part I of "A Bullet Runs Through It"? I thought it was pretty emotionally raw and intense for an episode of CSI, especially the confrontation between the widow and the mother. Looks like Nick inherited the mustache that Chip on NCIS had to shave off. I get the feeling that...
So, do you think that other "gun-for-hire" forensic scientist is going to have it in for Grissom? New recurring antagonist? Or will the under-Sheriff's gratitude be the way that Grissom winds up with Ecklie's job?
Interesting last night how the show sort of set the world of the rich movie star against that of the poor Laotian laundry workers. In the end they all wound up in the same place.
