Not to get too far from the topic, but here are two notes on "Nixon"....first the prices are high on ebay (and other sites), and you don't know if you're buying the first batch of copies which had a defective audio track on the director's cut disc. It's a risk.
Virtually the same, Criterion seems to be a little sharper, but doesn't have as many special features.

I saw more damage and white specks than on the Kino/Twilight Time discs.
This might be off of the OCN because at various times either the right or left side of the frame was blurry and out-of-focus. Something I don't recall from...
Well, "The Bounty" seems to be very similar to the Kino and Twilight Time releases. Very disappointing!!!

No way could this have been a new 4K scan of the original camera negative. There's just no way!

Mine arrived today and it was in great shape!
I sure hope not, because the TT and Kino releases looked like crap. They were clearly from an early-2000's DVD / Broadcast TV master. I've already pre-ordered this one. One of my ten personal favorites from the 80s.
