The best line was Saracen's grandma asking Tyra if she brought the booze when Landry offered her a ride to Dallas. It's such a quick little line, but spoke volumes of the small town-ness of everybody knowing everybody's business.
Landry had me almost choking up for him when he was making his case for Tyra to dump Riggins. Riggins's roasting of the QB banging the coach's daughter was just so bad. Buddy's joke would have been better had he had Matt text messaging the plays, not emailing them. That blonde girl...
Is the team that Dillon's playing in the state championship the same team that beat them early in the season? ....found out it was the team that Voodoo went to go play for earlier in the season after leaving Dillon. Should be a good one.
I got chills when Street was coaching up Saracen. Street at the beginning of the season would have never done something like that. Street's journey is paying off quite nicely. Riggins is my hero.
A lot of life lessons on hand tonight. A leopard never changes his spots. Kids will listen if you give them a chance to make an informed decision. Don't eat where you poop.
Fans of Scott Porter (Jason Street) will find it amusing that he was cast as Colin in "Music and Lyrics", who is the more successful half of the '80s band with Hugh Grant's character as the has-been now. He shows up in mainly videos and other promo bits from the '80s. It's just weird to see him...
Landry getting caught at the strip club killed me (plus his expressions while checking out the nearest dancer). I had lobbied (in my head) for coach to suspend Mac for a game, but definitely not fire the guy. I was pretty happy that Matt finally got up the courage to ask Julie to be his...
Found it funny how Coach went from being perturbed at Julie until she let him know that Matt was wanting her to play QB, and then he went into coach mode. I thought Tyra was going to clothesline Lila before the game was over. Landry was killing me as the referee. The racism portion...
The little conversation between Street and coach at the courthouse with them sharing a laugh about Buddy's reaction to the marriage proposal was a nice touch. Matt is naive at times (lying about something that didn't need lying about), but maybe he and Julie will work it out. Of course, I...
Buddy took one look at Tyra's mom's rack, and that sealed the deal for a new position. Nice use of the flat tire repair as a metaphor for Tyra's mom's over-reliance on men. Coach and his wife crack me up when they fight. Matt's dad goes back to the war, felt bad for Matt, but it was...
Good episode last night, mainly about struggles between family and between friendships. Jason reclaimed a lot of self-respect, he stood tall, very tall. Smash is heading for a fall, but him teaching Saracen how to be a playa was painful, but funny, to watch. Tim and his brother's relationship...
I do admit to tearing up just a little when Riggins gave Jason the ball. Didn't realize just how tall Tyra was until Riggins' brother made a comment about her height, and IMDB lists her being 5'11". Smash's steroid subplot is a little cliched, but I guess it goes to motivation and desire...
Given the promos, as soon as they showed the Reyes kid, I knew he was a goner, it was just a matter of the execution of how to get there given the circumstance. I was puzzled as to when Reyes went public with how events went down, there was too many eyeswitnesses to Voodoo's racial slurs...
FNL improved by 3 points in the ratings last night (compared to last Tuesday up against Dancing with the Stars) going up against a rerun of CSI: Miami (which still managed to almost double FNL's viewership - why are Nielsen viewers watching reruns of this show?).
