I'm just wondering if the writers were planning on using the death of Marisa as a plot device to keep the rest of the graduates close to home this next season, and play it by ear. Marisa's death scene seemed longer than it needed to me. Will the rage of Ryan consume him? Will we next see him...
If the show returns, the rumors are that Marisa's little sister will return to re-invigorate the teen element, and I wouldn't put it past the writers to keep the core characters (Seth, Summer, Ryan) close to the O.C. and have them go to local colleges nearby. Marisa might not return because...
Loved the Summer front flip off the short balcony at prom. It's funnier if you replay it a few time in a row. Ryan brings the pain on Vomit finally. But has he killed Vomit? Hmm... Kirsten keeps lying to herself, can't come clean about falling off the wagon. Marissa always returns to...
Anna's hair extensions look ridiculous on her. Seth killed me with the "I'm half-Indian, half-Jewish, I'm a Hin-Jew." line. Well, Ryan can believe easier now since Theresa confirmed the paternity of her boy. Summer's gonna stew for the entire plan ride home, damn, that would suck...
"The Day After Tomorrow" Summer: "Remember that movie about the gay guys on the mountain?" Marissa: "The Lord of the Rings?" Summer: "Yeah" Haha! Seth was acting so irrationally in denial, how long did he expect to keep up the charade (of getting into Brown)? Ryan says...
Still not buying this whirlwind romance between Ryan and Sadie. But it did harken back to the classic O.C. with Ryan getting into a fight once again, and getting plenty of facial cuts and bruises to show for his efforts. If I were Kirsten, I'd been pretty pissed at Sandy's efforts which...
2/9/06 I wasn't buying the accelerated pairing off of Ryan and Sadie, that was just way too fast. Can't believe Kaitlin's going back to school, maybe the next time we see her, she'll be older than Marisa. Here's hoping Morena Baccarin's character has a more substantial role with Matt...
Seth on pot was hilarious (having the munchies, eating Ryan and Marisa's food, getting all emotional about the ending for "Save the Last Dance"), staring at the blue screen on the TV. Hopefully by getting rid of Johnny, they can move on to less dour love triangles.
1/19/06 Kaitlyn is going to be trouble. But I like the actress they picked to play the "grown up from boarding school" version of Kaitlyn. The Johnny-Marissa thing needs to go away, it's approaching Oliver-level of nowhereness. Will Johnny stick around and be Kaitlyn's boytoy? Not sure if...
1/12/06 "Safe Harbor" I think The O.C. does work best when it's the gang against the world. When it's in-fighting between the couples or parentals, the show drags to a slow halt. So I also thought this episode was a good return to season 1 form. Seth and Summer were cracking me up.
This show has lost its edge, and it's just sputtering along. Perhaps Kirsten's stalker was hoping to cash in since Kirsten was due an inheritance, and she appears to have money troubles. What will the stalker do when she finds out that Kirsten has nothing but a letter of apology from her...
So what is the Jeri Ryan character up to? Is she crushing on KiKi, perhaps to stalker-lez proportions? :) They sure did hit the reset button for the most part by the end of the episode to clear the slate and have the "teen" characters in their place for their senior year. Last season had the...
