Did you mean John or William...do Tell; and then compose your thoughts.
But don't go losing your head over it.
BTW, wouldn't it had been cool if Zinnemann had directed "Cimarron"?
Didn't you mean to say "in the right Aspect Ratio of mind"?
Just re-reading this entire thread, Ron; and I sincerely hope that all 3,000 copies were bought up by the HTF membership. It's now so very hard to decipher which of the two is greater: The film, itself, or TT's stunning disc.:)
Alum.
I'm thinking of a Laurel and Hardy short entitled "Tit for Tat" where it was used.
I also believe that there was a 3 Stooges short which used the same gag.
On the other hand, isn't it encouraging that a 49 year-old film was beautifully restored and DID sell it's 3,000 quotient?
And what if "A Man For All Seasons" was not limited to 3,000? Maybe it would continue to sell in a gradual flow.
Like I said in an earlier Post, I could had sworn that the...
But wasn't it you who had aided Leo McKern into reclaiming his very citizenship?
Anyway, to prove my points in your favor would mean turning this entire thread into a "Kangaroo" court...so I'll have to rest my case.
P.S. I promise not to make reference to my favorite Leo McKern performance, at...
My fear is that you own a copy of "Rainman". If so, DON'T start with that film or you'll be trapped, again.
But seriously, I sincerely hope that you will take RMajidi's advice. His advice has always been sound.
Excellent. I have been redeemed. I never questioned the superior quality that I was seeing; after all, I ended up spending double on "Oliver!". First on the mistaken identity version from Europe and then, to my peace of mind, the TT version. In short, you could say that I felt that TT's...
I just joined the ranks of "Khartoum" ownership and my copy is on the way. I've never seen it before, but my sole reason for purchase is due to my interests in amassing 70mm on BD. Not just for owning, but for actual viewing; which, to some, may seem awfully strange.;)
Make no mistake, my...
Well, only TT could chime-in on that question and observation.
Hopefully, I'm right, otherwise this would be a case of my trying to "will" it to look better; after all of my efforts.
Meanwhile, I hope you own a copy of "A Man For All Seasons"; it's mandatory to own this one.
Indeed, "A Man For...
Excellent point.
Which brings me to the expanded version of my story.
I had the TT BD of "Oliver!" sent to my home address.
Months later I arrived back stateside. I was very excited and immediately opened my parcel.
I was so proud of myself for capturing this much coveted item.
Yes I, PMF, had...
Just a minor footnote, but there is a price paid to be for "free" Shakespeare in the Park; such as waiting in line at 6 a.m. - or earlier - to capture that seat for a performance taking place 12 hours later. I just squeezed in a few summers back, after keeping my place in line throughout.:)
It's funny about our passions.
So excited was I to learn about TT's initial release of "Oliver!" that I timed my order while working overseas.
There was a 12-Hour time difference and I had to co-ordinate my work breaks, make deals and barter, in order to make full certain that I got my order in...
