When Skye was upset at her actions and said that she was stupid and weak, did I really hear Coulson say in response, "You're not weak"? That was a funny moment for me.
Matt,That's what I think as well (about appreciating earlier episodes upon repeated viewings) given how the show has evolved.Did anyone catch Coulson when he said "Raided the Fridge"? I loved that line!
Adam,Very insightful. I especially like how you said "It turns out that's because the Grant Ward the team knew really was a cardboard cutout." Provocative.
I thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode. The entire cello segment was superb. And those 'super powers' were quite engaging.
After Skye realized that Ward is with Hydra, it was interesting to see how she was shaking and had to gather herself before she interacted with Ward again. When she...
Nelson,I prefer the original series.I watched the most recent episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. tonight. Part of me wants Skye (or someone) to cancel Ward, while another part of me wants Ward to be a double agent for Fury. I tend to agree with what Neil said above (that there being no doubt about Ward...
Nelson,I actually thought about which word to use there carefully. And then I thought of one of my all-time favorite television shows, La Femme Nikita (1997-2001). That's why I chose that word. :)
Nelson,Thanks. I haven't seen the most recent episode, but I'm looking forward to it. With regard to Skye and Ward, I still hope that it occurs down the road.
I watched Turn, Turn, Turn tonight (I missed it last week). All I can say is wow. I never saw the Ward angle coming. And truth be told, this was the first time since the introduction of the character in this series that I really admired Hand. And as soon as I did, poof.
Quick question for anyone who knows. Are episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D. repeated during the week? I missed last night's episode. I would love to see it. Thanks.
Adam,Is there any chance that May knew they were the bad guys within S.H.I.E.L.D. and that she was setting them up all along and couldn't let Coulson know what she knew? I don't know if there is any credence to this, it's just a thought. And I don't know to what end (just in case you ask me).
That was one good episode tonight. I was pleased that we finally got to see Skye become an official member of S.H.I.E.L.D. I've been waiting for that moment for quite a while, and it didn't disappoint.
The entire scene with the 'Clairvoyant' (or so we thought) was very well done. It reminded...
Adam,I may be way off base here since I don't know the back story nearly as well as you do. Reading your post above regarding Melinda May, I can't help but compare her situation with that of Skye's earlier in the series when she (Skye) was seemingly adhering to two different loyalties...
Nelson,
The Marvel Universe includes all things Star Trek, while the D.C. universe includes all things Star Wars. Seriously, I know very little about either universe as well. And although I too don't think very hard while watching this show, I can certainly understand how it might be irksome...
That was a very good episode tonight. I loved the fighting scenes between Lady Sif and Lorelei. I'm still really curious why there are no detectable trace elements of the drug in Skye. If it has been explained, then I've missed it thus far.
Sam,Thanks for the correction. You're absolutely right, as she even introduced herself as Lorelei. Still, my son is looking forward to seeing Lady Sif very much. :)
That was quite an episode last night. And the last scene was more than eerie. I thought I was either 1) watching a different show altogether; or 2) in the Q Continuum (as portrayed in the VOY episode "Death Wish"). I had no idea what was going on. But once I realized what was occurring I...
That was a wonderful episode tonight, maybe even my favorite thus far. It was in my opinion the greatest challenge faced by the team to this point, too. Skye will survive given her importance to the Coulson storyline, but it was nevertheless quite eerie to see her injured as badly as she was...
Nelson,I've been thinking the same thing with regard to Skye during the past three or four episodes. I like the actress and the character, so I welcome episodes that feature her prominently.
Adam,
Agreed. An excellent episode for sure. It's interesting that you mention May as possibly being Skye's mother. While watching tonight's episode, I thought Coulson (when relating the orphanage story to Skye) purposely changed the sex of the person who ostensibly dropped her off at the...
I have very little backstory on any of the characters or concepts, so I'm coming into this series new. I thought last night's episode was the best thus far. I liked learning more about Rising Tide, and I'm pleased that Skye's hand was forced to the extent that it was with regard to her...
I enjoyed last night's episode. I liked the line where Skye said she really wants to become part of the team and how she ultimately made her choice. I have never really followed the characters in The Avengers, so whatever backstory there may be is quite new to me. I don't have a lot of...
I did. I think you're going to be right too (that the texts were copied or were otherwise reproduced).
Now that Skye is 'in', I believe S.H.I.E.L.D. will discover this and not be too worried about her motives. I also think that she will eventually change her opposing views and become one of...
