Justin, I own only Dark Shadows: The First Year (two copies); I don't own the History Of Dark Shadows: 1966-1967. Several months ago I wrote to Kathryn Leigh Scott at Pomegranate Press to ask if she had any copies of Dark Shadows: The First Year available, which she did not.

Powell, For what it's worth, I too use Goo Gone for all of my CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, and boxed sets. I've never had it not work perfectly. I wish I could guarantee that it would work for you, but that's obviously your choice to try it or not.

Bryan, Glad to hear it! Dark Shadows (original series) is one of three shows that I'd bring to my desert island if given the chance. TOL and TOS are the other two.

Mark, I admire your decision. I really don't think that there will be all that much 'new' information that you and I don't already own in some format. Still, it would be nice to know what exactly is included in the set as far as special features are concerned.

Mark, I think that those who own the complete series in individual volumes have all of the bonus interviews, and of course the restored Barnabas kinescope. As far as I can tell at this point, only the booklet and maybe some material on one or two extra DVDs is new. But I can't even be sure...

Professor Echo, I don't know if you've seen some of the special features on the individual volumes, but in one of them, Roger Davis (Jeff Clark / Peter Bradford) tells how he used to cover up the cheat sheet lines that Addison Powell (Dr. Lang) asked him to put on his sleeves / collar area...

Mark, You were fortunate to be able to tape episodes back when they first ran! I watched the show for an hour a day back then, but never had taping capabilities (at least not video). I recall vividly watching the first half hour on a given day (a repeat of the previous day's final half hour)...
