I just got up to the Wills episode this morning. Yes, I agree, the show is not that funny but I will say it is quite better than the other show that it ran along with on NBC, Camp Runamuck. But hey, what, you laugh at 8, non necessarily as funny when you're an adult.
Jericho, as did most MGM series, had a decent run on TNT. So I would say its not well known but I don't consider shows that have run in the taping era to be that obscure. Among the MGM shows which Turner owned, about the only ones which TNT never aired episodes of are Hank, Sam Benedict, Father...
The Baron came out because the British company Network has released just about everything it owns in the ITC library, save for a few series produced for the US or Canadian markets. And Hank is a Warner Archives title and they are putting out everything they can that doesn't have any licensing...
Not sure about that because I don't believe Fox had anything to do with all of the shows that MGM licensed out to Timeless and to TGG Direct. Those came straight from MGM without any Fox involvement.
I never really watched the show after it moved to CBS and went to color. My memories of it were from the ABC years, which thanks to Nick at Nite, we were able to get finally, complete and uncut. No Bub or Mike, I'm not interested.
My two biggest remaining wants from that TV season would now be The Double Life of Henry Phyfe and Trials of O'Brien. I have a handful of both but wouldn't mind seeing the complete runs.
