I started recording them from COZI but they are BBB (Butchered Beyond Belief), coming in about 5 minutes short. That's 20% of the show missing. To me, its as unwatchable as trying to read a book with 20% of the pages missing.
Nothing happened. No one gave a timeframe. It is still likely to come at some point as well as The Joey Bishop Show. I have no idea when as no deals have been struck. Last I heard, it was about a 60-40 chance of happening.
They didn't make uncut transfers of Real McCoys. Those were done for the sale to The Nashville Network in the late 90s. At the time, there was no DVD TV market and no reason to think that 25+ minute running time episodes would have any use. In order to get the full versions, they would have to...
When SFM did the butchered 16x9 transfers of seasons 4-11 for Cozi, they also did a set of uncut transfers in the correct 4x3 aspect ratio, which hopefully will be what they use for the BOD DVDs.
Warner Brothers is a gigantic company, which SFM is not. Its comparing apples and oranges. We'll see when the Real McCoys hits the market but I would expect they will be DVDRs like most BOD releases have been.
Add to the list:7. The Hagen episodes did not have their copyrights properly renewed. When the 28 year original copyrights expired, which would have been 1982-85, they were not renewed. They tried to do a bogus renewal in 1987 or so, which was too late and all of those seasons had fallen into...
Who ever said anything about it being in his will? Who starts this nonsense? Maybe the family knew how he felt and are following his wishes or perhaps Tony Thomas doesn't feel that version of the show was as good. Whatever. They're not making them viewable again. Thomas Productions still exists...
AFAIK, the Real McCoys will be the same cut for syndication versions but the other shows, like Wyatt Earp, Joey Bishop and MRFD should be complete and unedited.
They aren't coming out. They aren't going to air. If it was going to happen, they would have been part of the package that got sold to Cozi. The Thomas people look at it as a different show, which it pretty much is. You can't force them to make it available when they don't want to. The only...
After Real McCoys, plans are in the works for many of the other properties SFM controls. Wyatt Earp, Joey Bishop Show (including the first season!), Make Room For Daddy (except seasons 1-3 of course). Maybe down the road even some of the lesser know shows they license, like The Californians...
