Controlled by SFM Entertainment. Two problems there. One is that they overcharge for licensing their shows so when companies do make a deal with them they usually lose their shirts. Two is they have a bad relationship with Timeless.
They do intend to include the original theme, if it can be done. And, no, its not coming from CBS. Once again, syndicator does not necessarily control all rights to a show.
My crystal ball is lighting up again. I see a loner who has just fought in a war and now wanders the country battling injustice. Timeless does it again!
For whatever reason, the "complete" series release is missing 7 episodes. I knew many years ago that for some reason the 2-part Mad Dog Coll Story was missing amongst the tapes. However there are 5 other episodes which didn't air on NBC which were also not included in the set: The Goering Story...
Amongst this new library are some shows which shot their seasons in both color and black and white. And then there should be more coming from the studio they do their most amount of business with and there's some nice color shows on the possible horizon there.
By the way, some good guessing...
My crystal ball has come into a very sharp, sharp focus tonight. I am seeing the vaults opening on a library of shows once made by a popular distributor from long ago. Exciting shows taking place everywhere on the Earth with even some beyond. And of course a few shows from this distributor in a...
I haven't seen the Laramie releases but from what I hear, they look like they are probably from someone's multi-generation off-air VHS recordings. Why they would put a show out in that condition, I have no idea, especially since we aren't talking about some great lost classic. The color...
Any company that licenses shows out from studios is at the mercy of either A) What elements are provided to them and B) The willingness of the studio to allow access to their 35mm prints. As most studios either do not allow access and will only do such transfers themselves at astronomical costs...
Impossible. Split ownership with some episodes owned by Fox (by way of Four Star) and the majority by CBS. A legit release of the full run would be highly improbable.
I also foresee some non-Universal releases. I'm getting an image of a private detective with a very cool jazz theme. I also see a show taking place on a boat with similar very cool music. And I see another show taking place down south with a lead and his silent but tough sidekick. Yes, some more...
I've had a set of them for 20 years and it was a show I watched as a child. Its a bit similar to McHale's Navy, although there really isn't a character comparable to Ensign Parker. However, you do get the adorable redhead Kathy Nolan in the lead role, which is a plus for any series.
I'm seeing into the future and I see some more Universal goodies coming down the pike:
I see a great police series based on a popular series of novels.
I see a distaff version of a popular service comedy.
I see a couple of rotating series, one of men with different professions and another of an...
Which means its not likely to ever see the light of day again. CBS really doesn't license (I know, Webster of all shows being the one exception). Not only that but unlike some of the other studios they aren't even doing transfers on the shows that they consider to have zero market value. They...
Outcasts actually ran in the 80s on BET. That's where I got mine from. Its a Sony show but unfortunately they seem to only deal with Shout and Timeless are the ones who love Westerns.
You will get half your wish come true very soon! Its funny but those are the 2 series which have one missing episode that never came out on 16mm all those years ago. So it will be nice that we will finally get to see Signals from an Ancient Flame. It would be great to also get Witness No Evil...
