While I agree that Prinze's death was a major shock, I wouldn't go as far to say "no one wanted to see it." It was more of a case where the major attraction is gone and the show just wasn't the same without him.
I agree Ron. It's more than likely a "bottom line" type decision. IIRC, the one disc "best of" put out many years ago didn't sell enough to warrant any future releases.
So, instead of sharing his talent with the world by making the show readily available, we should all just forget the fact that Freddie Prinze or the show ever existed? Seems to actually compound the tragedy to me.
