I think there's been a bunch of great games but I have GamePass Ultimate, Switch Online + Expansion Pak, and PS+ Premium so I haven't really paid for a new game this whole year. I'm doing a horror game sprint to Halloween and just played Man of Medan last weekend, plan to play Little Hope this...

Considering I buy PS+ as an annual service and it usually comes with great discounts on buying games at sales, I don't mind some unknown stinkers every couple months.

The map is kind of like Super Metroid in size. It's big enough to give you a few hours of gameplay, but not massive. I played an hour or two of Apotheon on PS4 and that game's map was a little too massive for my tastes, so I totally understand what you're saying.

Guacamelee is awesome because it has a good style and the upgraded moves are fun, but its not so long that you are incredibly bored of it too quickly. I loved it.

Just curious, but what did you really miss out on because of the low ranking? They DO give you trophies for higher rankings and stuff, but the ranking itself is effectively the same as a trophy so you're not really missing out on anything of value. Also, Ground Zeroes was only $30 when it came...

MGSV:GZ is a fantastic game, so long as you really "get" it. Edwin - have you played any of the MGS games before? MGSV controls a little differently (they all have a similar control layout) and there are new systems implemented, but generally the core gameplay (sneak around, don't get caught...

Ground Zeroes is a short in the same way that Tetris or Street Fighter are short. It's not about a single run through the story, it's about using it as a sandbox. And the extra missions are a ton of fun. Ideally, it was released to let fans get a taste of the new game because things are so...

While that chart does present a great argument, it's a bit misleading. I'm sure that if you took each game, looked up their Metacritic/GameRankings rating, looked at the cheapest price (new or used) within a month or two of when it was on PS+, and then removed everything that you had absolutely...

If you go to the online store, store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com and log in, you can find the free games under Games, PlayStation Plus, Free Games. Use the link for games on the top then the links for PS+ and Free Games on the left side.

The thing is, they offer 6 games per month (2 on PS3, 2 on PS4, and 2 on PS Vita) and then they switch them out for a new 6 games. So if you have a bunch of PlayStation platforms then it is definitely worth it.

Honestly, DuckTales Remastered was fun but nothing that seems to be "missing" from the PS4. It's basically the same game from the 80s and only takes a couple hours to finish.

I was interested in Injustice and Deadly Premonition, mostly for the cult following it has. Good thing I never bought either one!

I've actually avoided buying some stuff on PSN because I figured they would eventually be free games. This strategy continues to work wonders for me.

Yeah, I had considered buying the game out of curiosity (I played the open beta and it was kind of fun) but even at $10 on sale I knew it would be on PS+ eventually.

At a rate of 6 games per month, that's 72 free games per year on top of discounts, free trials, and being a required fee to play PS4 games online.I think the criticism is still a bit unfair. Besides, they've given away almost all of their non-EA huge games already.

Considering a $50 annual sub is about $4/month, I think the 6 games on offer are great. Velocity 2X and PS All Stars are going to get some attention from me. Maybe not a ton of attention, though. Also, owning a PS3, PS4, and a Vita makes all the cross-buy stuff even better.

I don't mind it much. They're probably offering more games per year now since they're doing 6 new ones each month, versus maybe 1 or 2 every month with a handful being there all the time. Also, I just go to the website to buy the free games. You can log in, get them all in like 2 minutes...

Once you "buy" a FREE game on PS+, you can keep it and re-download it any time in the future so long as your PS+ subscription is active. If you end your subscription then start it up again later, you will regain access to those games. Anything bought at a discount on PS+ (there are a lot of...

Yeah, PS Now is meant to let you play PS3 games streaming through the internet using Gaikai's technology. Gaikai does PC game streaming. Rumor has it that they are bringing PS1 and PS2 emulation to the PS4 (in the same way PS1 and PS2 games could be played on the PS3) but nobody knows for sure...

I'm not sure how I feel about PS Now considering I own a majority of those games listed (for PS3 or other platforms) and I'd need to see the specifics on how it works. I think something more like OnLive would be better; you pay $15/month for a large selection of smaller/older games (all of them...

Played Borderlands 1 hardcore for like 2-3 hours, then immediately lost interest. It reminded me a lot of Assassin's Creed 1: neat concept and great art direction, but really by-the-numbers execution that relies too heavily on a simple/boring reward. (In AC, it was "another identical mission."...

Being that I don't play Call of Duty games (or Battlefield or any multiplayer-centric game) $45 is still too much. Heck, $45 for a console game is still what I consider to be too much.

I actually mentioned the long-term scarcity price inflation thing as a negative of physical goods. I hate that and I think digital kind of negates it in a good way. For example, why would someone buy my physical copy of Vagrant Story on PS1 if they can get it on PSN for $7? That said, if I...

I like that they're having these crazy sales (like Steam) but I also like the idea of picking up a physical copy of a game after its been out for 2 years for $10, whereas I'd have to wait for a crazy PSN sale for it to dip below $20 or $30 at that point. Physical goods still maintain that bit...
