I inspired someone!!!
=============
Seriously, congrats, Dan!
This one was a lesson for me to use PayPal when I suspect things might not go according to Hoyle. Glad I did. It expedited that part of the transaction (the actual refund).
Tru 'dat, Richard.
The thing that really honked me off was them telling me they hadn't received my return--after I had already told them they had it (you callin' me a liar?) and I had the USPS tracking to back me up that they had gotten it more than two weeks earlier.
Jerks.
And just to close my own personal circle, at 9 o'clock tonight, I escalated my "dispute" with FYE to full-on "Claim" status (which authorizes PayPal to step in to determine the proper resolution to the disagreement).
Less than four hours later I got a notification that FYE had refunded my money.
With relatives in the great white north, I know all too well the difficulties (and costs) of getting mail from one side of the border to the other.
And, frankly, there is a bit of logic that would allow Canadian mail quicker egress to the UK...both part of the monarchy and all...
Aha! Up on the river.
I used to have some relatives in Ogdensburg.
And I know a fellas who works at Ch. 7 in Watertown. Also know some people in Lowville.
But we have digressed from the topic-at-hand.
To be fair, I am a frequent shopper at the two FYE stores in the Albany-area and don't have anything negative to say. Interestingly, the customer service at fye.com always goes out of their way to say that they are an entirely different outfit from the B&M stores. Which is strange, because...
Zero is happening on the PayPal front. Not sure why others got immediate satisfaction and I didn't.
But I just very politely gave FYE a piece of my mind in an e-mail as I sent them the tracking number/info:
[anger building] FYE is telling me now that they haven't refunded my money as they haven't received my return.
Amazing, since I have proof to the contrary. I now have to send them the tracking info. [/anger building]
I am amping up my displeasure with FYE (TransWorld) over my situation with them.
As I posted earlier, I have opened a PayPal dispute over what I'm owed by them (they received the returned disc on Nov. 26th). Would those members here with experience in this sort of thing let me know if I should...
I have gone ahead and filed a dispute with PayPal.
I placed the order back on November 10th and have done my due diligence in making this good. They need to be responsible and do the same. They have had long enough to process this. They received their stinkin' Ardennes Fury DVD back on...
And just as I typed that post, I got a response from FYE.
My e-mail:
Their response:
As I said earlier about trying to get the deal on Bilko...nothing ventured, nothing gained.
They are proposing you print out a return shipping label (no postage necessary on your part) as well as a copy of your e-mail to help identify you in their system.
If you have no way to print things, I would bet they would be willing to send you the return shipping label in the mail. You would...
I have received a reply to my own e-mail:
I'm not surprised by this response at all and understand it completely.
FYE is a fine company and let's not start bashing them endlessly for making a mistake. It sounds like they will make us whole for our trouble.
I kept my e-mail to FYE's customer service simple as can be.
The first attachment is a screen grab of my electronic FYE order (which included the order # and product name of The Phil Silvers Show--Sgt. Bilko). The second attachment was an image of today's invoice with the same order number and...
I'm fully expecting that to be the case.
As I've already stated, I am going to ask them to replace it with the item I actually ordered.
But I'm wondering if anyone else has had any sort of dialogue with FYE customer assistance about the issue yet, so I can be prepared with what their company...
I still haven't received anything from FYE yet. But, I'm thinking when I get the film to try and talk with them about having them ship me the product I ordered.
As I stated earlier...it might work, or it might not. But no harm in trying.
Completely the same story for me. I was tempted but just not the biggest Bilko fan. But I figured I'd take a stab at the FYE price as I've found them to be a decent company to do business with (and Albany-based to boot!)
And, what can I say? I'm a HUGE Allan Melvin fan! :laugh...
Did I say you were pointing a finger at Mike*HTF--even though you did mention him in your post?
Maybe you need to re-read my post. I was just stating my position (since you brought him up) that, like you, I believe he shouldn't be pointed out for any blame.
And I repeat my point that we...
