Max Payne 2 is out already? Hmm I'm really behind the times. :) I did like Max Payne, although I didn't try it until a year ago...it chugged on my P3-733 when it came out! My complaint with Max Payne is the lack of strategy...or at least lacked the feeling of having strategic options...
Well, I pity those with the Soundblaster Live! still. The CPU usage must be horrendous! :D Oh and when I listen to a Soundblaster Live! upsample 44.1Khz to 48 Khz, I cringe in horror. I don't pity the Audigy users, although I do weep for their bank accounts! ;)
John, your Ghost Recon and other older games supporting 4.1 is a great point. And it gets even better with the Soundstorm (and the audigy?) solutions because these games use the standard DirectSound3D API calls, and will sound even BETTER (compatibility problems aside..hehe). Ancient games...
The sound is quite good on my nForce-based system. Sounds as good as the xbox! I pity you poor soundblaster people...you aren't getting true DD5.1 surround sound from your games. :D I suppose it would sound good on the Audigy though.
It "seems" a little worse-looking than the default, but I do have to look carefully. I think the quality difference is in the lighting...the bump-mapping looks good.
