A commitment for a full 22-episode season is even more than I expected. Matt Rouch at TV Guide has been speclating that NBC would renew this show. NBC's ratings as a whole are so bad now, they didn't want to give up on every marginal show in their lineup. I hope more people will discover this...
It has always irritated me that people complain about nothing good is on TV for families to watch. Everytime there is a good show for families, they fail because of lack of ratings. SNL is a great example of a family-friendly show. What gets rating? The incredibly stupid, Deal or No Deal. You...
I think that is what has to happen. It's a completely different show if Coach Chandler is in Austin and his family, all the other important characters in the show are back in Dillon. The show has to keep its focus on the small town and the high school football team. If Taylor does go to Austin...
Thanks for posting the update, Jason. I just read this on the TV Guide web-site and was about to post a link to it, myself. I, too, hope this will turn into a full second season. In the meantime, I can't wait for tomorrow's episode. It should be a good one.
Here is a quote I found in TV Guide regarding the fate of FNL. It looks like we will have to wait a while after we know the results of the Panther's state final.

I think they have some of the best chemistry between a couple I have ever seen on TV. Their scenes are so believable. I can't wait to see how a new season will play out for the coach and his family.
I don't think it would make much difference. I haven't seen anything in this show that would differentiate this town from many other small towns across the country.
Their relationship is one of the most believable of all the couples on TV, now. There was a nice article in Entertainment Weekly about the show and they mentioned their believable relationship.
She's one of the main reasons I started to watch this show in the first place. I got to see it in HD for the first time last night. It looks so much better in HD than letterboxed SD.
