All versions still have that mushy DNR look to me. Less EE and compression is good though. But there's no real reason to go back to watching the theatrical version. Less music, no killer 5.1 track.

So there's no PQ or SQ differences between this new version and the last despite new encoding schemes? The old edition has tons of DNR, grain, and some EE.
Yeah, Landis' comments on this new edition sure have me psyched up. I mean, the same documentary that was done 5 years ago, no new transfer, and House of Blues footage! :D
The same transfer is probably used but I bet the bitrate is considerably better though. The old release had a low avg of 4.45mb/sec, probably to accommodate the documentary.
