Apple Pay instant notifications weren't working all that well for mel today. I think American Express' servers and/or Apple's servers were overloaded by the Black Friday shopping frenzy! :) Mark

My American Express card is the Costco Cash Rebate version. I got to wondering if we'd still get the cash rebate points if we use the iPhone to pay instead of actually swiping the card. A phone call to AMEX confirmed that we do, indeed, still get our appropriate cash rebate points when we use...

Answer found!! Whether you get instant notifications or not depends on the credit card company! American Express is, apparently, the leader in this: http://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/2n618b/apple_pay_question_instant_notifications/ The card I have linked is an American Express. Also...

Apple Pay on the iPad 2 (or iPad Mini 2) only works within Apps. You can't use the iPad2 or iPad Mini 2 to pay in brick and mortar stores. In-store payment only works with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and the forthcoming AppleWatch. So, perhaps that's why you iPad2 isn't showing your transactions...

Dave, if you don't have the very latest iPad or iPhone models, then you don't have Apple Pay.Use Apple PayApple Pay lets you make fast payments without reaching for a physical credit or debit card. To use Apple Pay, you'll need:iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus (Apple Pay in stores and within apps)iPad...

Like Sam, I've only linked one credit card, which automatically becomes the "default card". But, according to Apple's support documents, if you link more than one credit card you get to choose which one is the default card. Then, while using Apple Pay (wireless payment), the default card is...

Yep, it sure is fast! When we are at the grocery store I usually scan my credit card through the pin pad terminal while the checker is still ringing our groceries. Then, when she sends the total to my credit card, the transaction shows up on my iPhone before the register is even done printing...

I continue to be extremely pleased (and impressed) with Apple Pay! Only three places I've visited in the last week have had Apple Pay capability, but even when I don't use my iPhone to make the purchase, every transaction I do with my credit card (the one I have linked to Apple Pay) shows up...

Yes, what Chuck said! But, as mentioned, do it from an iTunes backup, rather than from iCloud. It's faster doing the restore from an iTunes backup. Even if you do iCloud restore first, you STILL have to plug it into iTunes to restore all of the apps without using up a bunch of cellular...

The little 120v AC adapters should be identical. All that's important is the little transformer's output current. The one for my 5S is 1 amp and the one for my iPhone 6 is the same. So, if the 4S adapter says 5v at 1A on the bottom, you're all set! BTW and FWIW, the output current for an...

Using iTunes to back it up to your computer is definitely the best way to go. I just did this on Tuesday. I backed up my iPhone 5S (which was running iOS 7) and then used that backup to "restore" my brand new iPhone 6 (which is running iOS 8). It worked flawlessly. When it was finished, the...

I pulled the trigger on an iPhone 6 (64GB on Verizon) at the Apple Store this morning. The switchover from my AT&T 5S went amazingly smoothly! I just have to rearrange some things due to the extra row of icons on the bigger screen. At the Apple Store, they weren't able to sign me up for...

Yes, that AT&T plan works EXACTLY like Verizon's Edge plan. Exact same pricing. If, in fact, you can bring an already paid for phone to the carrier and get the lower price from the get-go because you aren't financing a phone, then, YES, I see your point. But it would STILL be cheaper to...

Okay, I did a little research. Verizon's plan for this is called Edge. But, as it turns out, Edge costs a little bit more than a regular subsidized plan. Example: 64GB iPhone 6 on 2-year contract with 2GB of data (unlimited minutes, unlimited text) Regular subsidized plan: $299.99 plus...

Yes, I'm a savvy tech shopper and I'm fully aware of the subsidies that increase the monthly cost of service. However, I was unaware that either AT&T or Verizon actually decreased the monthly service cost once the 2 years was up. ?????It's really not that important because I will almost...

I've been an AT&T customer since 2007. I'm sick of AT&T so I plan to move to Verizon with my next iPhone purchase. For kicks, I visited a Verizon store today. Here in SoCal, they are offering a $150 credit (to your bill, about 2 months later) if you port a number from another carrier over to...
