There seems to be an awful lot of animated discussion over this revelation that "shouldn't matter" and "has no bearing on the story." If people were truly as open and unaffected by this as they're claiming, they would just shrug it off with an, "Eh, whatever," and move on with their life...

Whatever happened to Stan Shunpike? Was it definitive that he was a Death Eater, or was he coerced by Imperius or Cruciatus curses?

From that cover illustration, it almost looks like Harry and Voldemort are working together against some other threat. They seem to both be casting toward a third party instead of each other.
